Vesting the Control of a Reserve in the Wairoa County Council

ORDER IN COUNCIL
At the Government House at Wellington, this 1st day of
November, 1944
Present:
His Excellency the Governor-General in Council
WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto has
been duly set apart as a reserve for landing purposes:
And whereas it is expedient that the control of the said reserve
should be vested in the Wairoa County Council:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the
Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and
consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, and in exercise
of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by section seventeen
of the Public Reserves, Domains, and National Parks Act, 1928,
doth hereby vest the control of the said reserve in the Wairoa
County Council.

Vesting a Reserve in the Geraldine Borough Council

ORDER IN COUNCIL
At the Government House at Wellington, this 1st day of
November, 1944
Present:
His Excellency the Governor-General in Council
WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto has been
duly set apart as a reserve for municipal purposes: And
whereas, in the opinion of the Governor-General, it is expedient to
vest the said reserve in the Mayor, Councillors, and Burgesses of the
Borough of Geraldine:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the
Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent
of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, and in exercise of the
powers and authorities conferred upon him by section nine of the
Public Reserves, Domains, and National Parks Act, 1928, doth
hereby declare that from and after the day of the date hereof, the
reserve described in the Schedule hereto shall become vested in the
Mayor, Councillors, and Burgesses of the Borough of Geraldine, in
trust, for municipal purposes.

Lands permanently reserved in the Auckland, Westland, and Otago
Land Districts
C. L. N. NEWALL, Governor-General
WHEREAS by the three-hundred-and-fifty-ninth section of
the Land Act, 1924, it is enacted that the Governor-General
may from time to time set apart temporarily as reserves, notwith-
standing that the same may be then held under pastoral license,
any Crown lands which in his opinion are required for any of the
purposes in the said section mentioned:
And whereas by the three-hundred-and-sixtieth section of the
said Act it is provided that land temporarily reserved under the said
three-hundred-and-fifty-ninth section may, at the expiration of one
month, but not later than six months, after the publication in the
Gazette of notice of such temporary reservation, be permanently
reserved, and that notice of such permanent reservation shall be
published in the Gazette :
And whereas the lands described in the Schedule hereto were,
by the Warrant dated the fifth day of August, one thousand nine
hundred and forty-four, and published in the Gazette of the tenth
day of that month, temporarily reserved under the authority of
the said Act for the purposes in the Schedule of the said Warrant
specified at the end of the respective descriptions of the lands so
intended to be temporarily reserved:
Now, therefore, I, Cyril Louis Norton Newall, the Governor-
General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise
of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the said Act, do
hereby permanently reserve the lands described in the Schedule
hereto for the purposes in the said Schedule specified at the end of
the respective descriptions of the lands so intended to be permanently
reserved for which purposes the said lands were so temporarily
reserved as aforesaid.

AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT
SECTION 132 (formerly part Section 17B), Block IX, Aroha Survey
District: Area, 17 acres and 31 perches, more or less. (Recreation.)
WESTLAND LAND DISTRICT
Reserve 1837, Town of Cobden, situated in the Borough of
Greymouth: Area, 4 acres 2 roods 32.6 perches, more or less.
Also Reserve 1838, Town of Cobden, situated in the Borough of
Greymouth: Area, 1 rood 21.1 perches, more or less. (Municipal.)
OTAGO LAND DISTRICT
Section 1562R, Block I, Dunedin and East Taieri Survey
District: Area, 1 acre and 11 perches, more or less. (Plantation.)

this 30th day of October, 1944.

Controlling Local Authority appointed under Section 63 of the
Licensing Act, 1908

IN pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred
upon me by section sixty-three of the Licensing Act, 1908,
I, Cyril Louis Norton Newall, the Governor-General of the Dominion
of New Zealand, do hereby appoint the Petone Borough Council
to be the controlling local authority under the said Act, to have
authority for the purposes of the said Act throughout the Wellington
Suburbs Licensing District, and to make all necessary appointments
and to do all things required for the conduct of the election of the
Licensing Committee, and for the general administration of the
said Act within such licensing district.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General,
this 31st day of October, 1944.
