Pursuant to the Emergency Regulations Act, 1939, His
Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the
advice and consent of the Executive Council, doth hereby revoke
the Christchurch Tramway Emergency Regulations 1940, published
in the Gazette on the ninth day of January, one thousand nine hundred
and forty-one, at page 8.

His Excellency The Governor-General In Council
WHEREAS by an Order in Council dated the twenty-eighth day
of January, one thousand nine hundred and forty-two, and
published in the Gazette of the twenty-ninth day of that month, the
control of Section 9, Block XIV, Awaroa Survey District, in the
Auckland Land District, a reserve for a site for a public hall, was
vested in certain persons therein named, who were by the said Order
in Council constituted a special Board, by the name of the Matira
Public Hall Board, in pursuance of section seventeen of the Public
Reserves, Domains, and National Parks Act, 1928:
And whereas it is desirable that Alexander Laxadof Boyd, of
Matira, should be appointed a member of the said Board in place
of Harry Snodgrass, resigned:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the
Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent
of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, and in pursuance
and exercise of the powers conferred on him by section seventeen
of the Public Reserves, Domains, and National Parks Act, 1928,
doeth hereby appoint the said
Alexander Laxadof Boyd
to be a member of the Matira Public Hall Board, constituted by
the Order in Council dated the twenty-eighth day of January,
one thousand nine hundred and forty-two, hereinbefore referred to,
in place of the said Harry Snodgrass, resigned.

Amending an Order in Council revoking the Reservation over Portions
of a Reserve in the Westland Land District

ORDER IN COUNCIL
At the Government House at Wellington, this 1st day of
November, 1944

His Excellency The Governor-General In Council
WHEREAS by an Order in Council dated the tenth day of
February, one thousand nine hundred and forty-four, and
published in the Gazette of the seventeenth day of that month, the
reservation for road and railway purposes over portions of a reserve
in the Westland Land District was revoked in terms of subsection
one (b) of section seven of the Public Reserves, Domains, and National
Parks Act, 1928:
And whereas an error was made in the description of the land
in the Schedule to the said Order in Council, and it is expedient that
the error should be rectified:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the
Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent
of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, and in pursuance and
exercise of the powers conferred upon him by the Public Reserves,
Domains, and National Parks Act, 1928, and of every other power
and authority enabling him in this behalf, doth hereby amend the
said Order in Council by substituting the description of the land set
forth in the Schedule hereto for the description of the land set forth
in the Schedule to the said Order in Council.
SCHEDULE
WESTLAND LAND DISTRICT
All that area containing 21 acres 3 roods 23.7 perches, more or less,
being parts of Reserve 8, situated in Block XIII, Waimea Survey
District. As the same is more particularly delineated on the plans
marked L. and S. 16/17/3E, F, and G, deposited in the Head Office,
Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon
coloured orange.

Revoking the Reservation over Reserves in the City of Christchurch,
Canterbury Land District

ORDER IN COUNCIL
At the Government House at Wellington, this 1st day of
November, 1944
Present:
His Excellency The Governor-General In Council
WHEREAS by subsection one (b) of section seven of the Public
Reserves, Domains, and National Parks Act, 1928 (hereinafter referred to as βthe said Actβ), it is provided that the
Governor-General may, from time to time, by Order in Council,
revoke the reservation over any public reserve or part thereof, and
thereupon the land comprised therein shall, if vested in the Crown
or in any local authority or trustees deriving title from the Crown,
become Crown land available for disposal under the Land Act,
1924, and in any other case may, subject to the provisions of
subsection five of the said section seven of the said Act, be disposed of
in such manner and for such purposes as may be stated in such Order
in Council:
And whereas the lands described in the First Schedule hereto
constitute public reserves for public purposes vested in the body
corporate called the Mayor, Councillors, and Citizens of the City of
Christchurch:
And whereas it is expedient that the reservation over the said
lands be revoked:
And whereas the said body corporate has passed a resolution
consenting to such revocation and has in all other respects complied
with the provisions of subsections three and four of the said section
seven of the said Act:
Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and
authorities conferred upon him by subsection one (b) of section
seven of the said Act, His Excellency the Governor-General of the
Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent
of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby revoke
the reservation for public purposes over the lands described in the
First Schedule hereto, and doth hereby declare that the said lands
may be disposed of by the said body corporate by way of sale by
public auction or private contract at such prices and on such terms
and conditions as the said body corporate shall determine, but so
that the proceeds of any such sale shall be used and applied in or
towards recouping the said body corporate for the moneys expended
by it in the purchase for recreation purposes of the land described
in the Second Schedule hereto.

RESERVE LAND TO BE SOLD
Canterbury Land District
All that area containing by admeasurement 1 rood 19.2 perches,
more or less, situated in the City of Christchurch, being Lot 18,
D.P. 6937, part Rural Section 16, and being the whole of the land
comprised in Certificate of Title, Volume 356, folio 174 (Canterbury
Registry). As the same is more particularly delineated on the
plan marked L. and S. 1/975F, deposited in the Head Office,
Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon
bordered red.
