Declaring Lands in the Canterbury Land District to be subject to the
Provisions of Section 23 of the Reserves and other Lands Disposal
Act, 1939

A PROCLAMATION

WHEREAS by section twenty-three of the Reserves and other
Lands Disposal Act, 1939, it is enacted that the Governor-
General may by Proclamation declare any lands of the Crown to be
subject to the provisions of that section to enable certain readjust-
ment of leases and licenses to be carried into effect :
And whereas it is deemed expedient that the lands described
in the Schedule hereto should be subject to the provisions of the
said section :
Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and
authorities so conferred upon me by subsection one of the aforesaid
section twenty-three, I, Cyril Louis Norton Newall, the Governor-
General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim and
declare, that from and after the date of gazetting hereof, the lands
described in the Schedule hereto shall be subject to the provisions
of the said section twenty-three of the Reserves and other Lands
Disposal Act, 1939.

Crown Land set apart as a Permanent State Forest

A PROCLAMATION

BY virtue and in exercise of the powers and authorities conferred
upon me by section eighteen of the Forests Act, 1921-22,
I, Cyril Louis Norton Newall, the Governor-General of the Dominion
of New Zealand, do hereby set apart the Crown land described in
the Schedule hereto as a permanent State forest.

SCHEDULE
NELSON LAND DISTRICT.—NELSON CONSERVANCY

ALL that area in the Nelson Land District, Murchison County,
containing by admeasurement 736 acres, more or less, and being
part of Section 14, Block XII, Matiri Survey District, and bounded
as follows: Towards the north generally by Sections 11 and 7,
Block XII, Matiri Survey District, again towards the north and
towards the north-east and south-east by a permanent State forest
(Gazette, 1939, page 1538), and towards the south-west by the other
part of Section 14, Block XII aforesaid. As the same is more
particularly delineated on plan No. 107/4, deposited in the Head
Office of the State Forest Service at Wellington, and thereon
bordered red. (Nelson S.O. plan 9319.)

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General
of the Dominion of New Zealand, and issued under the
Seal of that Dominion, this 20th day of October, 1944.

Crown Land set apart as a Permanent State Forest

A PROCLAMATION

BY virtue and in exercise of the powers and authorities conferred
upon me by section eighteen of the Forests Act, 1921-22,
I, Cyril Louis Norton Newall, the Governor-General of the Dominion
of New Zealand, do hereby set apart the Crown land described in
the Schedule hereto as a permanent State forest.

GISBORNE LAND DISTRICT.—ROTORUA CONSERVANCY

ALL that area in the Gisborne Land District, Wairoa County,
containing by admeasurement 2,320 acres, more or less, being
Section 2, Block XII, Tuahu Survey District. As the same is
more particularly delineated on plan No. 56/2, deposited in the
Head Office of the State Forest Service at Wellington, and thereon
bordered red.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General
of the Dominion of New Zealand, and issued under the Seal
of that Dominion, this 20th day of October, 1944.

Amending Order in Council delegating Powers under the Cemeteries
Act, 1908

ORDER IN COUNCIL
At the Government House at Wellington, this 18th day of
October, 1944
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

PURSUANT to the Cemeteries Act, 1908, His Excellency the
Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent
of the Executive Council, doth hereby revoke, in so far as it relates
to the Palmerston Cemetery, the Order in Council delegating powers
under the said Act made on the eighteenth day of September, one
thousand nine hundred and thirty-three, and published in the
Gazette on the twenty-first day of the same month at page 2429.

Authorizing the Onehunga Borough Council to reclaim Land in the
Puhea Creek in Manukau Harbour

ORDER IN COUNCIL
At the Government House at Wellington, this 18th day of
October, 1944
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

WHEREAS it is provided by section one hundred and sixty-
eight of the Harbours Act, 1923 (hereinafter called “the
said Act”), that the Governor-General may from time to time,
by Order in Council, authorize any local authority or Harbour
Board to reclaim from the sea areas not exceeding five acres in
extent in any case where he considers that the reclamation will
not affect navigation and is for the benefit of the public :
And whereas the Onehunga Borough Council (hereinafter called
“the Council”) is desirous of reclaiming from the sea certain land
in Puhea Creek, in Manukau Harbour, and the said reclamation is
of such nature as aforesaid, and the Council has applied to the
Governor-General in Council for an order authorizing the execution
of the said harbour works :
And whereas it has been made to appear to the Governor-
General in Council that the proposed harbour works will not be or
tend to the injury of navigation, and is for the benefit of the public :
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the
Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the power
and authority vested in him by the said Act, and acting by and
with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said
Dominion, doth hereby authorize and empower the Council to
reclaim from the sea in Puhea Creek, in Manukau Harbour, the
area of land coloured green and shown on plan marked M.D. 8325,
and deposited in the office of the Marine Department at Wellington,
such reclamation to be carried out and constructed in accordance
with the said plan marked M.D. 8325.

Authorizing the Laying-off of Streets (Hamilton and Beatty Streets)
in the City of Invercargill, of a Width less than 66 ft., but not less
than 52 ft.

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in him by the
Municipal Corporations Act, 1933, and of all other powers in
anywise enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor-
General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the
advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion,
doth hereby authorize the Invercargill City Council to permit the
laying-off of the proposed streets described in the Schedule hereto
of a width less than sixty-six feet, but not less than fifty-two feet.
