Notice respecting Proposed Constitution of Reporoa Drainage District,
Counties of Rotorua and Taupo
Department of Internal Affairs,
Wellington, 6th September, 1944.
IT is hereby notified that a petition has been presented to His
Excellency the Governor-General, under the Land Drainage
Act, 1908, praying that the area described in the Schedule hereto
may be constituted a drainage district, to be known as the “Reporoa
Drainage District.” All persons affected are hereby called upon
to lodge any written objections to or petitions against the proposed
constitution of such district which they desire to lodge within one
month from the first publication of this notice, such objections
or petitions to be addressed to the Minister of Internal Affairs,
Wellington.
SCHEDULE
PROPOSED REPOROA DRAINAGE DISTRICT, COUNTIES OF ROTORUA
AND TAUPOL
ALL that area in the Rotorua and Taupo Counties, bounded by a
line commencing at a point being the south-western corner of
along the eastern side of the Rotorua-Taupo State Highway to
the road intersecting part Rotomahana-Parekarangi 3A 3B 4B 2B
Block; thence eastward along the southern side of the said road
intersecting that block and forming the northern boundaries of
Sections 24s and 25s, Reporoa Settlement, along a right line across
the said road, and along the northern boundaries of a Quarry
Reserve and part Sections 26s and 76s to the north-western corner
of Section 62s, all of Reporoa Settlement; thence running south-
ward along the western boundaries of the said 62s and 67s of the
said settlement (State Forest-Gazettes, 1922, page 2717, and 1926,
page 130); thence running westerly along the southern boundaries
of Sections 73s, 60s, the southern side of the road forming the southern
boundary of 59s, and the southern boundaries of Sections 57s and 56s,
all of the said Reporoa Settlement, to the Waiotapu Stream ; thence
northerly along the eastern side of that stream to and across the
Mangahoanga Road; thence again westerly along the northern
side of that road to the point of commencement.

Agreement for Grant of Easement in favour of James Wall, of Plimb-
merton, Farmer, and Sarah Emma Laidlay, of Taihape, Widow,
over Land taken for a State Highway Depot in Block V, Paekakariki
Survey District, assented to
WHEREAS by a Proclamation dated the 4th day of July, 1940,
published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 72 of the llth
day of the same month, at page 1653, all that piece of land con-
taining 2 acres 2 roods 20 perches, being portion of Haukopua
East Block, Block V, Paekakariki Survey District, was taken for
a State Highway Depot: And whereas by a Proclamation dated
the 30th day of June, 1941, published in the New Zealand Gazette
No. 56 of the 3rd day of July, 1941, at page 2053, all that piece of
land containing 10 acres 2 roods 17·1 perches, being part Haukopua
East Blok, Block V, Paekakariki Survey District, was taken for
road:
And whereas James Wall, of Plimmerton, Farmer, and Sarah
Emma Laidlay, of Taihape, Widow, were entitled to compensation
for their freehold interests in the said areas of 2 acres 2 roods
20 perches and 10 acres 2 roods 17·1 perches:
And whereas the Minister of Works has agreed to grant to the
said James Wall and Sarah Emma Laidlay and their successors
in title to the land comprised in certificate of title, Vol. 432, folio 65
(Wellington Registry), for so long as the portions of such land
adjoining the northern and southern boundaries of the said area
of 2 acres 2 roods 20 perches are held in one ownership, a right-of-
way and right of ingress, egress, and regress with or without imple-
ments, animals, or vehicles of every description loaded or unloaded
by night as well as by day, for the said James Wall and Sarah Emma
Laidlay, and their successors in title, and their tenants, servants,
agents, and workmen, licensees, and invitees, and all persons having
business with them (in common with the servants of the Crown
and all other persons lawfully using the same), in, over, and upon
all that piece of land containing 19·5 perches, more or less, being
part Haukopua East Block, Block V, Paekakariki Survey District,
as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked
P.W.D. 120018, deposited in the office of the Minister of Works
at Wellington, and thereon coloured red, in part satisfaction of the
compensation aforesaid:
And whereas the said James Wall and the said Sarah Emma
Laidlay have agreed to accept such grant of right-of-way in part
satisfaction of the said compensation:
Now, therefore, the Minister of Works hereby gives notice, in
pursuance of section 97 of the Public Works Act, 1928, that he
assents to the agreement hereinbefore referred to.

certain Grades
Office of the Minister of Marketing,
Wellington, 5th September, 1944.
PURSUANT to Regulation 5 : 1 of the Lemon Marketing Regula-
tions 1940, I hereby fix the following prices per loose bushel
to be paid by the Marketing Department for lemons delivered to
the Department during the undermentioned period.
The prices of Preferred Commercial and Commercial Grades
are fixed on a basic rate of 4s. 8d. loose bushel.
Period of delivery (both days inclusive): Ist September to
30th September, 1944:-
