HIS Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to
approve of the following promotions, variation in rank,
relinquishments of commissions, and retirements of officers of the
New Zealand Military Forces :—

N.Z. TEMPORARY STAFF

Temp. Captain K. I. Armour to be temp. Major. Dated
1st September, 1944.

Temp. Captain G. B. Morton is posted to the Retired List
with the rank of Captain. Dated 26th August, 1944.

TERRITORIAL FORCE

N.Z. ARMOURED CORPS

2nd N.Z. Armoured Regiment

Temp. Captain F. B. Hopwood is posted to the Retired List
with the rank of Captain. Dated 13th August, 1944.

N.Z. ARTILLERY

Lieutenant (temp. Major) A. L. Tompkins is posted to the
Retired List with the rank of Major. Dated 1st September, 1944.

Temp. Captain C. N. Williamson is posted to the Retired List
with the rank of Captain. Dated 25th August, 1944.

Temp. Lieutenant A. S. Jameson is posted to the Retired List
with the rank of Lieutenant. Dated 28th August, 1944.

The notice published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 21, dated
1st April, 1943, relative to temp. 2nd Lieutenant A. J. Grinter,
is hereby cancelled.

CORPS OF N.Z. ENGINEERS

Temp. Lieutenant W. F. Wise is posted to the Retired List
with the rank of Lieutenant. Dated 18th August, 1944.

N.Z. INFANTRY

The Auckland Regiment (Countess of Ranfurly’s Own)

Temp. Captain A. E. Andrewes relinquishes his commission
on appointment to a commission in the Royal N.Z. Air Force.
Dated 15th October, 1943.

Lieutenant W. H. Cooper to be temp. Captain. Dated 1st
August, 1944.

The Hauraki Regiment

Temp. Lieutenant G. S. McLaren is posted to the Retired List
with the rank of Lieutenant. Dated 2nd September, 1944.

The Waikato Regiment

Lieutenant (temp. Captain) G. M. Watson is posted to the
Retired List with the rank of Captain. Dated 2nd September, 1944.

The Nelson, Marlborough, and West Coast Regiment

2nd Lieutenant P. S. Moore relinquishes his commission on
appointment to a commission in the British Army. Dated 28th
December, 1939.

N.Z. ARMY SERVICE CORPS

Temp. Captain T. R. Edgerley is posted to the Retired List
with the rank of Captain. Dated 28th August, 1944.

Temp. Captain K. Ramsden relinquishes his appointment in
the N.Z. Temporary Staff and is posted to the Retired List with
the rank of Captain. Dated 9th September, 1944.

The notice published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 60, dated
20th July, 1944, relative to temp. Lieutenant P. G. Gill, is hereby
cancelled.

N.Z. MEDICAL CORPS

Lieutenant-Colonel (temp. Brigadier) I. S. Wilson, O.B.E., M.C.,
E.D., M.D., F.R.C.S. (Eng.), F.R.A.C.P., relinquishes the temporary
rank of Brigadier, and assumes the temporary rank of Colonel on
relinquishing the appointment of Director-General of Medical
Services (Army and Air). Dated 19th August, 1944.

N.Z. ARMY NURSING SERVICE

Charge Sister E. W. Bradly (née Smith) is posted to the Retired
List. Dated 4th September, 1944.

Sister E. E. Cobeldick is posted to the Retired List. Dated
2nd September, 1944.

Temp. Lieutenant E. Malkin relinquishes his commission on
appointment to a commission in the Air Training Corps. Dated
1st December, 1943.

Colonel S. F. Hartnell, D.S.O., E.D., and is reposted to The
Taranaki Regiment with the temporary rank of Lieutenant-Colonel,

Lieutenant-Colonel H. F. Allan, E.D., and is reposted to the
Nelson, Marlborough, and West Coast Regiment with the rank of
Major, with seniority from 14th May, 1936. Dated 27th August,
1944.

Major M. Rose, M.R.C.S. (Eng.), L.R.C.P. (Lond.), N.Z. Medical
Corps, and is reposted to the Territorial Force with the temporary
rank of Major, with seniority from 4th November, 1942. Dated

Temp. Captain A. D. Sinclair, and is reposted to the N.Z.
