The Stipendiary Magistrates (Travelling-allowance) Amendment Regulations 1944

At the Government House at Wellington, this 13th day of September, 1944

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

PURSUANT to section 10 of the Magistrates’ Courts Act, 1928, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, doth hereby make the following regulations.

REGULATIONS

  1. THESE regulations may be cited as the Stipendiary Magistrates (Travelling-allowance) Amendment Regulations 1944, and shall be read together with and form part of the regulations made under section 10 of the Magistrates’ Courts Act, 1928, on the 2nd day of July, 1934, and published in the Gazette on the 5th day of the same month at page 2093 (hereinafter referred to as “the principal regulations”).

  2. The principal regulations, as amended by the regulation made on the 14th day of July, 1936, and published in the Gazette on the 23rd day of the same month at page 1396, are hereby further amended by substituting, in lieu of the expression “20s.” where it occurs in Regulation 1 thereof, the expression “22s. 6d.”.

Appointing a Member of the Napier Harbour Board

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the Harbours Act, 1923, I, Cyril Louis Norton Newall, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby appoint

Robert Watson Carpenter

to be a member of the Napier Harbour Board, as a representative of the electors of the combined district of the Borough of Waipukurau and the County of Waipukurau, in the place of Robert McLean, deceased, to hold office until the third Saturday of May, one thousand nine hundred and forty-seven.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this 6th day of September, 1944.

Appointment of Members of Medical Council

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the Medical Practitioners Act, 1914, and the Medical Practitioners Amendment Act, 1924, I, Cyril Louis Norton Newall, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby reappoint—

Philip Stanley Foster, M.B., Ch.B. (Univ. N.Z.), M. and F.R.C.S. (Eng.), and

Professor Charles Ernest Hercus, O.B.E., D.S.O., M.D., Ch.B. (Univ. N.Z.), F.R.A.C.P.,

to be members of the Medical Council under the aforesaid Acts.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this 9th day of August, 1944.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by section four of the Nurses and Midwives Registration Act, 1925, I, Cyril Louis Norton Newall, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby reappoint—

Mary Letitia Lindsay, R.N., R.M.N., and

Irene Grace Owen, R.N., R.M.,

to be members of the Nurses and Midwives Registration Board under the aforesaid Act as from the first day of September, one thousand nine hundred and forty-four.

Appointing Additional Member to Ship Cove Reserve Board

WHEREAS by a Warrant dated the sixteenth day of July, one thousand nine hundred and forty-three, and published in the Gazette of the twenty-second day of that month, the control of the Ship Cove Reserve in the Marlborough Land District was vested in certain persons therein named, who were by the said Warrant constituted a special Board by the name of the Ship Cove Reserve Board, in pursuance of subsection three of section ten of the Reserves and other Lands Disposal Act, 1935 :

And whereas it is considered desirable that the membership of the said Board should be increased :

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred upon him by subsection three of section ten of the Reserves and other Lands Disposal Act, 1935, and of all other powers and authorities enabling him in this behalf, doth hereby appoint

Frederick Evans Musgrove

to be an additional member of the Ship Cove Reserve Board hereinbefore referred to as from the fifteenth day of September, one thousand nine hundred and forty-four.

Vesting the Control of a Scenic Reserve in the Te Kuiti Borough Council

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by section thirteen of the Scenery Preservation Act, 1908 (hereinafter referred to as “the said Act”), His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand doth hereby vest the control of the scenic reserve described in the Schedule hereto (being land reserved under the said Act) in the Te Kuiti Borough Council, subject to the conditions hereinafter contained, that is to say :—

  1. The period for which the control of the reserve is hereby vested shall be five years from the date hereof, unless the reservation is previously altered or revoked under the said Act.

  2. The said Council shall prepare a report each year ending on the thirty-first day of March, together with a statement of receipts and expenditure in connection with the said reserve. Such report and statement shall be sent to the Minister charged with the administration of the said Act as soon as possible after the close of the year.

  3. The said Council shall control the said reserve in accordance with the provisions of the said Act and of the regulations made thereunder.

MANGAOKewA GORGE SCENIC RESERVE.—AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT

ALL that area containing by admeasurement 420 acres 0 roods 18 perches, more or less, situated in Blocks IV and VIII, Otanake Survey District, being portion of scenic reserve set apart by Proclamation dated the 17th day of April, 1912, and published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 38 of the 25th day of April, 1912, page 1394. Bounded towards the north generally by part Pukenui 2u Section 1, across the Mangaokewa River, and by Rangitoto-Tuhua No. 64, part Section J, 1625·1 links and 1161·3 links; towards the east generally by Rangitoto-Tuhua No. 640, part No. 2B, No. 64M, east part No. 64J, and No. 64s, 468·8, 299·4, 349·9, 418·3, 452·8, 627·2, 228·8, 118·4, 263·5, 408·9, 320·8, 958·9, 311·4, 875·5, 476·7, 592·7, 521·4, 202·3, 258·8, 148·6, 273·7, 457·5, 272·4, 369·1, 506·8, 442·6, 257·7, 580·4, 631·9, 230, 475·3, 216·8, 196·4, 250·7, 173·2, 372, and 65·8 links; towards the south-east generally by Rangitoto-Tuhua 68A No. 2B, 315·4 and 229·3 links, to the left bank of the Mangaokewa River; thence by the left bank of the said Mangaokewa River to its junction with the southern boundary of the eastern part of Pukenui 2u Section 3; towards the south by the abutment of a road reserve and Section 1, Block VIII, Otanake Survey District, 1334·6 links; towards the west generally by the western parts of Pukenui 2u Sections 3, 2, and 1, 773·3, 998·8, 1052·4, 378·6, 1189, 481·3, 330·6, 2088·6, 762·5, 397·8, 1089, 631·5, 624·4, and 1628·4 links, to the place of commencement; be all the aforesaid linkages more or less. As the same is delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 4/302A, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered pink. (Auckland plan No. 16159, blue.)
