Appointment of Trustees of Airlie Bank Private Burial-ground

PURSUANT to the Cemeteries Amendment Act, 1912, I, Arnold Henry Nordmeyer, Minister of Health, do hereby appoint

George Frederick James Dorward, of St. Kilda, Dunedin, and John Wesley Kernahan, of Alma, Oamaru,

to be trustees to have the maintenance and care of the Airlie Bank Private Burial-ground, in place of Andrew Christie (deceased), and Thomas Landreth (deceased).

Commissioner of the Supreme Court appointed

ARTHUR DIGNAN LEYS, Esquire, of Suva, Fiji, a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Fiji, has this day been appointed by the Right Honourable Sir Michael Myers, G.C.M.G., Chief Justice of New Zealand, a Commissioner of the Supreme Court of New Zealand in Fiji under section 47 of the Judicature Act, 1908, for the purpose of administering and taking all such oaths, affidavits, and affirmations as in the said section mentioned.

Notice of Intention to take Land in the City of Invercargill for the Purpose of establishing Hotels and suitable Places for the Sale and Supply of Refreshments

NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1928, and the Invercargill Licensing Trust Act, 1944, to take the land described in the Schedule hereto for the purpose of establishing hotels and suitable places for the sale and supply of refreshments: And notice is hereby further given that the plans of the land required to be taken are deposited in the post-office at Invercargill and are there open for inspection; and that all persons affected by the taking of such land should, if they have any well-grounded objections to the taking of the said land, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing, within forty days from the 7th day of September, 1944, to the Minister of Works at Wellington.
