The Servicemen’s Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943.—Notice declaring Land taken for the Settlement of a Discharged Serviceman

WHEREAS an application has been made for the consent of the Land Sales Court to a transaction which relates to the land described in the Schedule hereto and to which Part III of the Servicemen’s Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943, applies :

And whereas the Land Sales Committee to which the application has been referred is of opinion that the land to which the application relates is farm land suitable or adaptable for the settlement of a discharged serviceman :

And whereas the said committee, not being satisfied that the Crown had decided not to acquire or arrange for the acquisition of the land, did on the 11th day of August, 1944, make an order determining the basic value of the land and no appeal from the said order was made within the time prescribed by the said Act or within any further time allowed by the Court :

And whereas the said land is not the land of any serviceman who is for the time being serving outside New Zealand in any of His Majesty’s Forces or in any British ship :

Now, therefore, I, Clarence Farrington Skinner, Minister of Lands, acting in pursuance of section 51 of the said Act, do hereby declare that the said land is taken for the settlement of a discharged serviceman, and I hereby specify the 6th day of September, 1944, as the date on which the said land shall be deemed to be vested in His Majesty the King.

MARLBOROUGH LAND DISTRICT

ALL that parcel of land containing fifty-one (51) acres three (3) roods, being Section Seventy-one (71), District of Kaikoura Suburban, and being the whole of the land comprised in certificate of title, Vol. 35, folio 115 (Marlborough Registry), limited as to parcels.

As witness my hand, this 30th day of August, 1944.

As witness my hand, this 30th day of August, 1944.

Industrial Man-power Emergency Regulations 1944.—Amendment to Declaration of Essential Undertakings No. 64

IN pursuance of the powers conferred upon him by Regulation 11 of the Industrial Man-power Emergency Regulations 1944, the Hon. the Minister of Industrial Man-power doth hereby amend the Declaration of Essential Undertakings No. 64 by deleting therefrom the words—

“except in respect of those persons employed as tram-car cleaners and except in respect of tram-conductors who are not members of the permanent staff,”

and by substituting therefor the words—

“except in respect of those persons employed as female tram-car conductors or as male or female tram-car cleaners,”.

Notice to Persons affected by Applications for Licenses under Part III of the Industrial Efficiency Act, 1936

Manufacture for Sale of Footwear

E. B. Barber, Ace Shoe Repair Depot, Anzac Avenue, Auckland, has applied for a license to manufacture beach sandals, men’s (5–10), women’s (2–6).

R. T. Williams and Sons, Ltd., 77 Marsden Street, Lower Hutt, have applied for an extension of their existing license so as to permit them to manufacture infants’ footwear, sizes 7–9, by the mock-cosy process.

H. P. Hayden, 290 Ponsonby Road, Auckland, has applied for a license to manufacture Highland and ballet shoes, by the hand-sewn and pump-sewn processes, and also toe shoes by the cemented and pump-sewn processes.

Taking of Fish for Sale

W. J. Reid, Maketu, has applied for a license to permit him to operate his fishing-vessel “Arawa” (not yet registered), using set-nets, drag-nets, long lines, hand-lines, and crayfish-pots, catches to be landed at Maketu.

J. T. Cantrick, 67 Palmer Street, Bluff, has applied for a variation of his existing license in respect of his fishing-vessel “Tainui,” BF. 44, so as to permit him to use trawl-nets and long lines as additional methods of fishing.

G. L. Brookland, Half-moon Bay, Stewart Island, has applied for a license to permit him to operate his 32 ft. fishing-vessel “Irene” (not yet registered), using set-nets, hand-lines, and crayfish-pots, catches to be landed at Half-moon Bay.

J. W. Webb, Ngunguru, Whangarei, has applied for a license to permit him to operate his 17 ft. fishing-vessel “Foam” (not yet registered), using long lines, hand-lines, and crayfish-pots, catches to be landed at Ngunguru, and for a fish-retailer’s license to enable him to hawk his catches for sale at boat-side and in Ngunguru Township.

K. P. Murphy, 64 Radley Street, Woolston, Christchurch, has applied for a license to permit him to sell cooked fish from shop premises at 675 Ferry Road, Christchurch.

Sale by Wholesale of Fish

Messrs. F. Cameron and T. A. Walters, Gisborne, have applied for a fish-wholesaler’s license at Gisborne.

Persons considering themselves materially affected by the decision of the Bureau of Industry on these applications should make any desired representations in writing not later than the 14th September, 1944, to G. L. O’Halloran, Secretary, Bureau of Industry, G.P.O. Box 3025, Wellington.
