Land set apart as Provisional State Forest declared to be subject to the Land Act, 1924

A PROCLAMATION

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by section twenty of the Forests Act, 1921–22, I, Cyril Louis Norton Newall, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting on the recommendation of the Minister of Lands, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land described in the Schedule hereto, being portion of Provisional State Forest Reserve No. 1630, set apart by Proclamation dated the eleventh day of October, one thousand nine hundred and twenty, and gazetted on the fourteenth day of that month, is required for settlement purposes; and, in accordance with the provisions of the said Act, such land shall, from and after the day of the gazetting hereof, cease to be provisional State forest, and shall become subject to the provisions of the Land Act, 1924.

SCHEDULE

WESTLAND LAND DISTRICT

ALL that area containing 8 acres 1 rood 20 perches, more or less, being part Reserve 1630 (Provisional State Forest), situated in Block VIII, Waitaha Survey District, and bounded as follows: On the south by Section 2832, 987·7 links; on the east by Section 2831, 566·8 links; on the north by Section 1055, 1280·2 links; and on the west by other part of Reserve 1630, 962·3 links. As the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked L. and S. X/98/38D, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, and issued under the Seal of that Dominion, this 24th day of August, 1944.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by the Public Works Act, 1928, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby direct the sale of the land described in the Schedule hereto, such land being no longer required for the public work for which it was taken.

Domain Board appointed to have Control of the South Rakaia Domain

At the Government House at Wellington, this 30th day of August, 1944

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by section forty-four of the Public Reserves, Domains, and National Parks Act, 1928, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby appoint

George Andrew Goldie Haslett,

Leonard Langley Street,

Horatio Charles Nelson,

Henry Arnold Harrison,

James Frederick Langley,

Bernard McNamara,

Harry Jeans Conway, and

Robert Rickel Breach

to be the South Rakaia Domain Board, having control of the land described in the Schedule hereto; and doth hereby appoint Saturday, the second day of September, one thousand nine hundred and forty-four, at eight o’clock p.m., as the time when, and the Council Office, Rakaia, as the place where, the first meeting of the Board shall be held.

SCHEDULE

SOUTH RAKAIA DOMAIN.—CANTERBURY LAND DISTRICT

RESERVE No. 2986, Town of South Rakaia: Area, 5 acres, more or less.

Also Reserve No. 2537, Block XIII, Rakaia Survey District: Area, 101 acres, more or less.

Also all that area containing by admeasurement 49 acres, more or less, and being part Reserve 2442, situated in Block XIII, Rakaia Survey District: Bounded towards the north-east by Normanby Road, 2000 links; towards the south-east by South Rakaia Suburban Lots 31 to 36, Block V, 2500 links; towards the south-west by the South Rakaia Road, 64 links; towards the north-west, again towards the south-west, towards the south, and again towards the south-east by other part of the said Reserve 2442 set apart as a site for a maternity hospital, 350 links, 200 links, 141·4 links, and 250 links, respectively; again towards the south-east by the South Rakaia Road, 1636 links; and again towards the north-west by South Rakaia Suburban Lots 19 and 20, Block V, 2500 links.

As the same are more particularly delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 1/412, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

Vesting a Reserve in the Mackenzie County Council

ORDER IN COUNCIL

At the Government House at Wellington, this 30th day of August, 1944

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto has been duly set apart as a reserve for gravel-pit purposes:

And whereas, in the opinion of the Governor-General, it is expedient to vest the said reserve in the Chairman, Councillors, and Inhabitants of the County of Mackenzie:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, and in exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by section nine of the Public Reserves, Domains, and National Parks Act, 1928, doth hereby declare that, from and after the day of the date hereof, the reserve described in the Schedule hereto shall become vested in the Chairman, Councillors, and Inhabitants of the County of Mackenzie, in trust, for gravel-pit purposes.

Extending the Open Season for the taking or killing of Opossums, Marlborough Acclimatization District

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

IN pursuance of the powers conferred on him by the Animals Protection and Game Act, 1921–22, and of all other powers and authorities enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, doth hereby amend the Order in Council made under the said Act, dated the first day of March, one thousand nine hundred and forty-four, and appearing in the New Zealand Gazette number sixteen of the second idem, at page 212, by deleting the words “1st September” appearing under the heading “Marlborough Acclimatization District” in the Schedule to such Order in Council, and contained in Condition Number One under the said heading, and by inserting in lieu thereof the words “16th September”:

And all licenses issued to take or kill opossums in the Marlborough Acclimatization District under the authority of the said Order in Council are hereby further extended until noon on the said sixteenth day of September, one thousand nine hundred and forty-four.
