EVIDENCE of the loss of certificate of title, Vol. 196, folio 184 (Auckland Registry), for part of Lot 16 on Deposited Plan 1467, being part Allotment 6A, Parish of Waipareira, in favour of MARGARET JACKSON, wife of Arthur Strother Jackson, of Auckland, Gentleman, having been lodged with me together with an application for a new certificate of title in lieu thereof, notice is hereby given of my intention to issue such new certificate of title after fourteen days from 10th August, 1944.

RICCARTON BOROUGH COUNCIL
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Government Loans Act, 1926, the Riccarton Borough Council hereby resolves as follows :—
“That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £11,500, authorized to be raised by the Riccarton Borough Council under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of extending the Riccarton Borough high-pressure mains and providing extra pumping equipment to provide water for fire-protection, the said Riccarton Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of decimal six (0·6d.) of a penny in the pound on the unimproved value of all rateable property in the Borough of Riccarton ; and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable yearly on the 1st day of April in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty years or until the loan is fully paid off.”

THE HAWKE’S BAY COUNTY COUNCIL
NOTICE OF INTENTION TO EXECUTE WORKS AND TO TAKE LAND
PURSUANT to section 22 of the Public Works Act, 1928, notice is hereby given that the Hawke’s Bay County Council proposes, under the powers conferred by the Counties Act, 1920, to execute a certain public work—namely, the laying out and construction of a road—and that accordingly the land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken for the purposes of a road.
Notice is further given that a plan of the land required to be taken for the purposes aforesaid is deposited at the office of the Hawke’s Bay County Council in Browning Street, Napier, and is open for inspection by all persons during ordinary office hours.
All persons affected by the execution of the said work or by the taking of the said land who have any well-grounded objections to the execution of the said work or to the taking of the said land must set forth their objections in writing, and send same to the Hawke’s Bay County Council at its office in Browning Street, Napier, on or before the 20th day of September, 1944, being a date not less than forty days from the first publication of this notice.
THE SCHEDULE
Eight-tenths of a perch, more or less, being part of the Korokipo 6A Block ; as the said piece of land is shown on plan No. 2126 (red), deposited for inspection as aforesaid, and thereon coloured blue.
Situate in the County and Land Registration District of Hawke’s Bay.

THE PALMERSTON NORTH CITY COUNCIL
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE
Municipal Buildings Loan, 1944, £45,000
IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, and of all other powers (if any) it thereunto enabling, the Palmerston North City Council hereby resolves as follows :—
“That, for the purpose of providing for the payment of interest, principal, and other charges on the Municipal Buildings Loan, 1944, of £45,000, authorized to be raised by the Palmerston North City Council under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of enabling the said Council to demolish the old portion of the existing building and erect on the present site a new municipal building, strengthening the remaining portion of the old building, and the purchase of furnishings—i.e., floor-coverings—the said Palmerston North City Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one-third of a penny (⅓d.) in the pound on the rateable value on the basis of the unimproved value of all rateable property in the City of Palmerston North ; and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable yearly on the 1st day of July in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty-five years or until the loan is fully paid off.”
