NOTICE is hereby given in pursuance of the Regulations Act, 1936, of the making of regulations and orders as under:-

Notice under the Oil Fuel Emergency Regulations 1939 relating to the Sale of Motor-spirit
Pursuant to the powers conferred on him by the Oil Fuel Emergency Regulations 1939, the Oil Fuel Controller does hereby direct that no motor-spirit shall be sold or delivered under the authority of any coupon issued pursuant to the said regulations unless the purchaser of the motor-spirit endorses on the back of the said coupon his signature and the registration-plate number of the motor-vehicle to the tank of which the motor-spirit is supplied by the seller. No motor-spirit shall be supplied in pursuance of any such coupon except directly into the tank of a motor-vehicle.

CROWN LANDS NOTICES
Land in North Auckland Land District for Selection on Optional Tenures
North Auckland District Lands and Survey Office,
Auckland, 1st August, 1944.
NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned property is open for selection on optional tenures under the Land Act, 1924; and applications will be received at the North Auckland District Lands and Survey Office, Auckland, up to 4 o'clock p.m. on Monday, 18th September, 1944.
Applicants should appear personally for examination at the North Auckland District Lands and Survey Office, Auckland, on Wednesday, 20th September, 1944, at 10 o'clock a.m., but if any applicant is unable to attend he may be examined by any other Land Board or by any Commissioner of Crown Lands. Applicants are required to produce documentary evidence of their farming experience and financial position.
The ballot will be held immediately upon conclusion of the examination of applicants, and the successful applicant is required to pay immediately at conclusion of ballot a deposit comprising the first half-year's rent, broken-period rent, lease fee, and deposit in reduction of weighting for improvements.
SCHEDULE
NORTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.-SECOND-CLASS LAND
Hokianga County.-Whangape Survey District
SECTIONS 34 and 38, Block VIII: Area, 99 acres 2 roods 36 perches. Capital value, £120. Deposit on deferred payments, £5. Half-yearly instalment on deferred payments (term: ten years), £7 11s. 1d. Renewable lease: half-yearly rent, £2 8s.
Weighted with £460 for improvements, comprising a four-roomed dwelling in sound order but with no conveniences; 21 chains road-fencing, half-share 38 chains boundary-fencing, 40 chains subdivisional fencing, and 93 acres cleared and in grass.
This sum is payable in cash, or on such terms as may be arranged with the Branch Manager of the State Advances Corporation at Auckland.
This property is only suitable as a run-off area. It is situated eleven miles from Broadwood Post-office, three miles from Awaroa School on metalled blind road. Soil is of poor to fair quality clay resting on clay and sandstone formation. The property is poorly watered by springs.

Pastoral Run in Canterbury Land District for Selection by Ballot
District Lands and Survey Office,
Christchurch, 1st August, 1944.
NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned pastoral run will be offered for selection on pastoral license (term, twenty-one years) under Part VI of the Land Act, 1924, and applications will be received at the District Lands and Survey Office, Christchurch, up to 4 p.m., on Monday 11th September, 1944.
Applicants should appear personally for examination at the District Lands and Survey Office, Christchurch, on Tuesday, 12th September, 1944, at 10.30 o'clock a.m., but if any applicant is unable to attend he may be examined by any other Land Board or by any Commissioner of Crown Lands.
The ballot will be held immediately upon conclusion of the examination of applicants.
SCHEDULE
CANTERBURY LAND DISTRICT
Ashburton County.-Somers and Alford Survey Districts
RUN 102, "Winterslow," Blocks X, XI, XII, XIV, XV, and XVI, Somers Survey District, and Blocks II, III, and IV, Alford Survey District: Area, 27,395 acres. Half-yearly rent, £125.
Weighted with £815 (payable in cash) for improvements, comprising shearing quarters, cookshop, wool-shed, swing bridge, yards, and dip, three huts and yards, fourteen miles of internal fencing, and half-share in three miles and a half of boundary-fencing.
This run comprises mountainous country, the highest elevation being 7,600 ft., and includes 8,000 acres of barren country and a basin between the Somers, Old Man, and Alford Ranges. It is splendid tussock and native-pasture country on the lower slopes, but the balance is shingle and rock-bound gorges and faces. The run is excellent summer country, but there is insufficient safe winter country and the snow risk is severe.
Access is by reasonably good metalled road with the exception of the last few miles, which is by pack track through Forest Reserve 3119.
Special Conditions
- The run is suitable only for persons with sufficient down country to winter 1,500 hoggets, and no application will be considered unless the applicant is so qualified.
- The license will include a good husbandry clause including a restriction on winter stocking to not more than 4,500 sheep on the basis of a count of one for dry sheep, and a count of one and a half for breeding-ewes.
Plans showing the boundaries, location, &c., of the run may be seen at the office of the Commissioner of Crown Lands at Christchurch, and any further information required concerning the run and the terms of disposal may be obtained from the undersigned.

LAND TRANSFER ACT NOTICE
EVIDENCE of the loss of certificate of title, Vol. 45, folio 298 (Auckland Registry), for Allotments 53, 54, 55, and 56 of the Suburbs of Hokianga, in favour of HENRY LLOYD HALLIDAY, of Auckland, Customs Officer, having been lodged with me together with an application for a new certificate of title in lieu thereof, notice is hereby given of my intention to issue such new certificate of title after fourteen days from 3rd August, 1944.
