Rangitaiki Land Drainage.—Notice of Intention to make and levy General Rates

Department of Lands and Survey,
Wellington, 11th July, 1944.

NOTICE is hereby given that it is intended, pursuant to the Rangitaiki Land Drainage Act, 1910, and its amendments, to make and levy, on the unimproved value of all land within the district constituted under the said Act, the general rates to meet maintenance-costs for the period 1st April, 1944, to 31st March, 1945, as described in the Schedule hereto.

The amount of such rates will be payable in one sum on the 30th day of August, 1944, together with the special rates already made and levied.

The valuation roll of the district is open for inspection at the office of the Collector of Rates, Chief Drainage Engineer’s Office, Room 45, Government Buildings, Customs Street West, Auckland, and a copy of same may be inspected at the office of the Land Drainage Engineer, at Thornton, near Whakatane, at all times at which those offices are open for the transaction of public business.

SCHEDULE

Class A.—On the unimproved value of all lands classified as Class A by the arbitrators appointed under section 6 of the Rangitaiki Land Drainage Act, 1910, twopence and seventy-eight one-hundredths of a penny (2·78d.) in the pound.

Class B.—On the unimproved value of all lands so classified as Class B, one penny and eighty-six one-hundredths of a penny (1·86d.) in the pound.

Class C.—On the unimproved value of all lands so classified as Class C, ninety-three one-hundredths of a penny (0·93d.) in the pound.

Class D.—On the unimproved value of all lands so classified as Class D, thirty-one one-hundredths of a penny (0·31d.) in the pound.

Waihi Drainage Area.—Notice of Intention to make and levy General Rates

Wellington, 11th July, 1944.

NOTICE is hereby given that it is intended, pursuant to the Swamp Drainage Act, 1915, and its amendments, to make and levy, on the unimproved value of all land within the Pukehina Subdivision of the Waihi Drainage Area constituted under the said Act, the general rates described in the First Schedule hereto, and on the unimproved value of all land included in the Central Subdivision the general rate described in the Second Schedule hereto, and on the unimproved value of all land in the Kaikokopu Subdivision the general rates described in the Third Schedule hereto, such respective rates being for the purpose of meeting maintenance-costs for the period 1st April, 1944, to the 31st March, 1945.

The amount of the general rates will be payable in one sum on the 30th day of August, 1944, on which day the annually recurring special rates already made and levied will also be payable.

The valuation roll and the rate-book of the district will be open for inspection at the office of the Collector of Rates, Chief Drainage Engineer’s Office, Room 45, First Floor, Government Buildings, Customs Street West, Auckland, and copies of same may be inspected at the office of Mr. H. W. Earp, Clerk, Kaituna River Board, Te Puke, at all times at which those offices are open for the transaction of public business.

Pukehina Subdivision

Class A.—On the unimproved value of all land classified as Class A by the persons appointed to classify lands under section 3 of the Swamp Drainage Amendment Act, 1928, fivepence and seven one-hundredths of a penny (5·07d.) in the pound.

Class C.—On the unimproved value of all land so classified as Class C, twopence and twenty-five one-hundredths of a penny (2·25d.) in the pound.

GENERAL RATES

Central Subdivision

Class A.—On the unimproved value of all land classified as Class A by the persons appointed to classify lands under section 3 of the Swamp Drainage Amendment Act, 1928, eightpence and sixty-two one-hundredths of a penny (8·62d.) in the pound.

GENERAL RATES

Kaikokopu Subdivision

Class A.—On the unimproved value of all land classified as Class A by the persons appointed to classify lands under section 3 of the Swamp Drainage Amendment Act, 1928, sixpence and forty-six one-hundredths of a penny (6·46d.) in the pound.

Class B.—On the unimproved value of all land so classified as Class B, fivepence and two one-hundredths of a penny (5·02d.) in the pound.

Class C.—On the unimproved value of all land so classified as Class C, twopence and eighty-seven one-hundredths of a penny (2·87d.) in the pound.

Cancellation of Teacher’s Certificate and Registration

IT is hereby notified that the Teacher’s Certificate and registration of Hans Anton Jensen have been cancelled under the provisions of section 17 (1) of the Education Amendment Act, 1924, and his name removed from the Teachers’ Register.

Unclaimed Lands.—Notice by the Public Trustee under the Public Trust Office Act, 1908 (Part II), and its Amendments

TO the owner of the following land, that is to say : All that parcel of land containing 48 acres, more or less, being Allotment 490 in the Parish of Te Papa, Cooks County : Bounded towards the north by Allotment 489, 2540 links ; towards the east by Allotment 491, 1741 links ; towards the south-east by a road 100 links wide, 1475 links ; towards the south-west by a road of a width aforesaid, 965 links ; towards the south by a road of width aforesaid, 1080 links ; and towards the west by a road of width aforesaid, 1662 links, and being the whole of the land described in an unregistered Crown Grant to Edward Purvis, sometime a private in the 1st Regiment of the Waikato Militia :

Whereas, after due inquiry, the owner of the above-described land cannot be found: And whereas the said owner has no known agent in New Zealand :

Now, the Public Trustee hereby calls upon such owner, within six months of the date of the publication of this notice in this Gazette, to establish to the satisfaction of the Public Trustee his title to the said land, and if he fails or neglects so to do the Public Trustee will exercise as regards the said land the powers and authorities granted to him in and by the Public Trust Office Act, 1908 (Part II), and its amendments.

Appointment of Deputy District Public Trustee

NOTICE is hereby given that, in pursuance of the power and authority vested in me by section 3 of the Public Trust Office Amendment Act, 1921–22, I, the Public Trustee of the Dominion of New Zealand, have appointed Raymond Willian Hope, of the Public Trust Office, Hastings, to be deputy of the District Public Trustee, Hastings, during the absence of such District Public Trustee from his headquarters from any cause, and all previous Warrants appointing any deputy of the said District Public Trustee have been revoked.
