A PROCLAMATION
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by the Public Works Act, 1928, and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in this behalf, I, Cyril Louis Norton Newall, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim as stopped the Government road described in the Schedule hereto, such road being no longer required.
SCHEDULE
APPROXIMATE area of the piece of road hereby stopped :-
A. R. P. Adjoining or passing through
1 1 27.5 Closed road and part Lot 17, D.P. 309, and part
0 3 25.4 Lot 1, D.P. 628, being part of Hapopo Block.
Situated in Block II, Ongo Survey District. (S.O. 21099.)
In the Wellington Land District; as the same are more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 119567, deposited in the office of the Minister of Works at Wellington, and thereon coloured green.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, and issued under the Seal of that Dominion, this 11th day of July, 1944.

Withdrawing Crown Land from a Mining District

A PROCLAMATION
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred upon me by section eight (c) of the Mining Act, 1926, and of every other power and authority enabling me in this behalf, I, Cyril Louis Norton Newall, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby, as from the date of the publication hereof in the New Zealand Gazette, withdraw from the Otago Mining District that area of Crown land described in the Schedule hereto, subject to any existing registered mining privileges.
SCHEDULE
ALL that area in the Otago Land District containing 3 acres 2 roods 31 perches, more or less, being Section 29, Block IV, Lower Hawea Survey District. Bounded towards the north-west by a public road, 147.9 links and 178.8 links; towards the north-east by said public road, 159.5 links; towards the south by Section 25, 129 links ; towards the east by said Section 25, 1395 links; again towards the south by said Section 25, 259.4 links; and towards the west by Section 28, 1293.2 links : be all the aforesaid linkages more or less.
As the same is delineated on plan marked Mines N. 6/4/18, deposited in the Head Office of the Mines Department at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, and issued under the Seal of that Dominion, this 29th day of June, 1944.

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL
PURSUANT to the Cemeteries Act, 1908, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, doth hereby revoke, in so far as it relates to the Blackball Cemetery, the Order in Council delegating powers under the said Act made on the eighteenth day of September, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-three, and published in the Gazette on the twenty-first day of the same month at page 2429.

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in him by section three hundred and eleven of the Public Works Act, 1928, and of all other powers in anywise enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby authorize the Minister of Works to erect, construct, provide, and use such works, appliances, and conveniences as may be necessary in connection with the utilization of water-power from the Mangaone Stream in the Land District of Gisborne, and in connection therewith to raise or lower the level of the said stream and to impound or divert or control the flow of water from same for the generation and storage of electrical energy and in connection with the transmission, use, supply, and sale of electrical energy when so generated; also to use electrical energy so generated in the construction, working, or maintenance of any public work, or for the smelting, reduction, manufacture, or development of ores, metals, or other substances, also to construct tunnels under private land or aqueducts over the same, erect poles thereon, and carry wires over or along such land without being bound to acquire the same, and with right of way to and along all such works and erections; and also to supply and sell electrical energy and recover moneys due for the same.

Authorizing Colin Campbell Stuart, of Waiwera South, Sawmiller, to use Water for the Purpose of generating Electricity

At the Government House at Wellington, this 12th day of July, 1944
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL
PURSUANT to the Public Works Act, 1928, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby grant to Colin Campbell Stuart, of Waiwera South, Sawmiller (hereinafter referred to as "the licensee"), a license subject to the conditions hereinafter set forth to take and use from Awakia Creek, situated in Section (part) 19, Block I, Kuriwao Survey District, in the Land District of Otago, for the purposes hereinafter set forth a stream of water not exceeding one and a half cubic feet per second at any one time.
CONDITIONS
I. IMPLIED CONDITIONS
THE conditions directed to be implied in all licenses by the Water-power Regulations 1934 and the Electrical Supply Regulations 1935 shall be incorporated in and shall form part of this license, except in so far as the same may be inconsistent with the provisions hereof.
2. LICENSE SUBJECT TO REGULATIONS
This license is issued under the Water-power Regulations 1934, the Electrical Wiring Regulations 1935, and the Electrical Supply Regulations 1935, and is subject thereto and to any regulations made or to be made in amplification or amendment thereof or in substitution therefor.
3. UTILIZATION OF WATER AND LOCATION OF HEADWORKS
Water shall be used under this license solely for the purpose of generating electricity up to a maximum capacity of 3 kilowatts at 110 volts direct current, and shall be taken from the stream at the point in Section (part) 19, Block I, Kuriwao Survey District, indicated on the plan marked P.W.D. 84375, deposited in the office of the Minister of Works at Wellington.
4. GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF WORKS
The licensee is hereby authorized, subject to the conditions hereof, to construct, maintain, and use the following works for the purposes of this license, the approximate positions of the said works being indicated on the said plan P.W.D. 84375 :-
(a) Headworks consisting of a dam and intake with a water-race leading to the water-wheel and power-house, hereinafter referred to, giving a static head of approximately 30 ft.
(b) A power-house, with all necessary equipment, for generating electricity.
(c) Tail-race leading from the said water-wheel to Awakia Creek.
