IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by section twelve of the Land Act, 1924, I, Cyril Louis Norton Newall, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim as road the land described in the Schedule hereto.
SCHEDULE
APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land proclaimed as road : 38·3 perches.
Being part Rural Section 7, Township of Sandon.
Situated in Block XVI, Rangitoto Survey District. (S.O. 21125.)
In the Wellington Land District ; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 119511, deposited in the office of the Minister of Works at Wellington, and thereon coloured blue.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, and issued under the Seal of that Dominion, this 21st day of June, 1944.

HIS EXCELLENCEY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL
PURSUANT to the Public Works Act, 1928, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby grant to Andrew Picken, of Matawai, Sheep-farmer (hereinafter referred to as "the licensee"), a license subject to the conditions hereinafter set forth to obstruct, impound, or divert the waters of Picken's Creek, situated in Section 5, Block VI, Ngatapa Survey District, in the Land District of Gisborne, and to take and use therefrom for the purposes hereinafter set forth a stream of water not exceeding two cubic feet per second at any one time.
CONDITIONS
- IMPLIED CONDITIONS
THE conditions directed to be implied in all licenses by the Water-power Regulations 1934 and the Electrical Supply Regulations 1935 shall be incorporated in and shall form part of this license, except in so far as the same may be inconsistent with the provisions hereof.
- LICENSE SUBJECT TO REGULATIONS
This license is issued under the Water-power Regulations 1934, and is subject thereto and to the Electrical Supply Regulations 1935 and the Electrical Wiring Regulations 1935, and to any regulations made or to be made in amplification or amendment thereof or in substitution therefor.
- UTILIZATION OF WATER AND LOCATION OF HEADWORKS
Water shall be used under this license solely for the purpose of generating electricity, and shall be taken from the said stream at a point in Section 5, Block VI, Ngatapa Survey District, in the Gisborne Land District, as indicated on the plan marked P.W.D. 118841, deposited in the office of the Minister of Works.
- GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF WORKS
The licensee is hereby authorized, subject to the conditions hereof, to construct, maintain, and use the following works for the purposes of this license, the positions of the said works being indicated on the said plan P.W.D. 118841 :-
(a) Headworks situated in Section 5, Block VI, Ngatapa Survey District, consisting of a dam and intake giving a static head of approximately 15 ft. :
(b) Head-race and pipe-line from such headworks to the power-house hereinafter described :
(c) Power-house with all necessary equipment for generating electricity, situated in Section 5, Block VI, Ngatapa Survey District.
- DURATION OF LICENSE
Unless sooner determined this license shall continue 'n force until the 31st day of March, 1965, or until electrical energy is available from an Electric-power Board or other public source of supply, whichever is the earlier.
- SYSTEM OF SUPPLY
The system of supply shall be as described in paragraph (d) of clause 21-01 of the Electrical Supply Regulations 1935. The generating voltage and the transmission voltage shall be approximately 50 volts direct current.
- RENTAL
For the purpose of assessing the rental or annual sum payable in respect of this license, the licensee may install a suitable maximum-demand indicator to the satisfaction of the Inspecting Engineer of the Public Works Department, and, failing such installation, the rental shall be determined on the maximum capacity of the generating plant installed. The present plant is rated at 1·5 kilowatts.

PURSUANT to the Public Works Act, 1928, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby grant to Lennart Engelbert Hill, of Tutaki, Murchison, Farmer (hereinafter referred to as "the licensee "), a license subject to the conditions hereinafter set forth to take and use from an unnamed creek, situated in Section 5, Block XVI, Matiri Survey District, in the Land District of Nelson, for the purpose hereinafter set forth a stream of water not exceeding 0·25 cubic feet per second at any one time, and to erect the electric lines hereinafter described.
CONDITIONS
