Price Order No. 246 (Amending Price Order No. 220) (Meat)
PURSUANT to the powers conferred on it by the Control of Prices Emergency Regulations 1939,* the Price Tribunal, acting with the authority of the Minister of Industries and Commerce, doth hereby make the following amending Price Order:
- This Order may be cited as Price Order No. 246, and shall be read together with and deemed part of Price Order No. 220† (hereinafter referred to as “the principal Order”).
- The Second Schedule to the principal Order is hereby amended by omitting from that paragraph (a) which relates to sales of mutton and pork in the North Island the words “1st to 19th August” and substituting the words “1st July to 19th August”.

Price Order No. 247 (Amending Price Order No. 158) (Walnuts)
PURSUANT to the powers conferred on it by the Control of Prices Emergency Regulations 1939,* the Price Tribunal, acting with the authority of the Minister of Industries and Commerce, doth hereby make the following amending Price Order:
- This Order may be cited as Price Order No. 247, and shall be read together with and deemed part of Price Order No. 158† (hereinafter referred to as “the principal Order”).
- This Order shall come into force on the 16th day of June, 1944.
- The principal Order is hereby amended by omitting from subclause (3) of clause 11 the words “harvested after the 31st day of December, 1943”.

Prohibition of the Sale of Declared Goods under Clause 9 (2) of the Control of Prices Emergency Regulations 1939, Amendment No. 3
PURSUANT to the powers conferred on it by clause 9 (2) of the Control of Prices Emergency Regulations 1939, Amendment No. 3,* the Price Tribunal hereby prohibits the sale by any persons whosoever, on and after the 1st day of July, 1944, of any goods of a kind or class specified under the Declared Goods (Control of Prices) Notices 1944 (No. 1)†.
The prohibition of the sale by any person of any goods in accordance with this notice shall cease to have effect with respect to such goods—
(a) If and when a Price Order issued by the Tribunal comes into force with respect to those goods; or
(b) If and when the Tribunal authorizes to such person a selling-price or a maximum selling-price for such goods.

CLASSES OF GOODS THE SALE OF WHICH IS PROHIBITED BY THIS NOTICE
- Overcoats (all kinds).
- Blouses.
- Women’s and girls’ costumes.
- Women’s and girls’ frocks, dresses, and gowns.
- Raincoats (all kinds).
- Dress piece-goods in cotton, artificial silk, synthetic, wool, and any mixture thereof.

Law Practitioners Amendment Act, 1935
PURSUANT to the Law Practitioners Amendment Act, 1935, notice is hereby given that the Disciplinary Committee of the New Zealand Law Society on the 4th day of May, 1944, ordered that the name of Lyall Hillier Sumpter be struck off the Rolls of Barristers and Solicitors of the Supreme Court of New Zealand and that he pays the sum of five guineas costs.

Notice to Persons affected by Applications for Licenses under Part III of the Industrial Efficiency Act, 1936
Taking of Fish for Sale
Gustave Sixtus, Kaitereiteri, Riwaka, has applied for a license to permit him to operate his 15 ft. motor-boat “Maude” (not yet registered), using set-nets, drag-nets, long lines, hand-lines, and crayfish-pots, catches to be landed at Kaitereiteri.
A. J. McKenzie, Monaco, Stoke, has applied for a variation in the conditions of his industrial fishing license in respect of his fishing-vessel “Sea Queen,” NN. 712, fishing into Nelson, so as to permit him to also fish at D’Urville Island and land his catches at French Pass.
R. W. A. Pumpa, 166 Hardy Street, Nelson, has applied for a variation in the conditions of his industrial fishing license to permit him to operate a new 43 ft. 35 h.p. engined fishing-vessel “Aloma” (not yet registered), using trawl-nets, set-nets, long lines, and hand-lines, in place of the “Jessie Logan,” NN. 842, which is to be delicensed in the industry, catches to be landed at Nelson.
H. Walker, Anakoha, Pelorus Sounds, has applied for a variation of his industrial fishing license in respect of his vessel “Ramona,” NN. 716, catches landed at Havelock, so as to permit him to operate also his motor-boat “Toy,” using the same mode of fishing and the same port of landing.
E. Mason, Anakoha, Pelorus Sounds, has applied for a license to permit him to operate his 16 ft. fishing-boat (not yet registered), using long lines and hand-lines, catches to be landed at Havelock.
D. W. Galbraith, Yare Street Extension, Oamaru, has applied for a license to permit him to operate the fishing-vessel “Forward,” OMU. 14, using long lines, hand-lines, and crayfish-pots, catches to be landed at Oamaru.
A. S. Mitchell and B. A. Mitchell, 50 Edward Street, Timaru, have applied for a variation in the conditions of their respective licenses, so as to permit them to operate the fishing-vessel “Alice,” DN. 92, using trawl-nets, set-nets, long lines, and hand-lines, catches to be landed at Timaru.
R. Bennett, Tirohanga, Opotiki, has applied for a license to permit him to operate his 16 ft. motor-boat “Victory” (not yet registered), using drag-nets, long lines, hand-lines, and crayfish-pots, catches to be landed at Tirohanga and Opape beaches, and for a fish-retailer's license to enable him to hawk his catches for sale at boat-side, and in the Opotiki County from the west side of the Waioeka River to the Torere Native Area on the east end of the Coast Road, excluding one mile radius from the centre of the Opotiki Borough.
Fish Retailing
Mrs. Jean Brooks, South Bay, Kaikoura, has applied for a fish-retailer's license to permit her to sell wet and cooked fish from her shop premises in Kaikoura, and to hawk fish for sale in the Hapuka Bridge, Mount Fyffe, and Puketa areas.
Manufacture for Sale of Footwear
N.Z. Agencies Co., 59 Manners Street, Wellington, has applied for a license to manufacture adults and children's beach clogs.
D. Westwood, Beverley Bags, 17 Cooke Street; Auckland, has applied for permission to machine uppers at the above address.
Pharmacy Industry
E. A. Owles, Romilly Street, Westport, has applied for permission to open a new pharmacy at the corner of Clyde and Fendalton Roads, Christchurch.
E. A. Collins, 37 Martin Street, Upper Hutt, has applied for permission to open a new pharmacy at Nae Nae, Lower Hutt.
Persons considering themselves materially affected by the decision of the Bureau of Industry on these applications should make any desired representations in writing not later than 29th June, 1944, to G. L. O'Halloran, Secretary, Bureau of Industry, G.P.O. Box 3025, Wellington.

Unclaimed Lands.—Notice by the Public Trustee under the Public Trust Office Act, 1908 (Part II), and its Amendments
TO the owner of the following land, that is to say: All that parcel of land containing 50 acres, more or less, being Allotment 68 in the Parish of Apata, Cooks County, bounded towards the north-east by Allotment 62, 2486 links; towards the south-east by a road 100 links wide, 579 links, and 1728 links; towards the south-west by Allotment 77, 1940 links; and towards the north-west by Allotment 67, 2180 links, and being the whole of the land described in an unregistered Crown Grant to John Montague, sometime a private in the 1st Regiment of the Waikato Militia:
Whereas, after due inquiry, the owner of the above-described land cannot be found: And whereas the said owner has no known agent in New Zealand:
Now, the Public Trustee hereby calls upon such owner, within six months of the date of the publication of this notice in this Gazette, to establish to the satisfaction of the Public Trustee his title to the said land, and if he fails or neglects so to do the Public Trustee will exercise as regards the said land the powers and authorities granted to him in and by the Public Trust Office Act, 1908 (Part II), and its amendments.
