Price Order No. 245 (Meat Sundries)

PURSUANT to the powers conferred on it by the Control of Prices Emergency Regulations 1939,* the Price Tribunal, acting with the authority of the Minister of Industries and Commerce, doth hereby make the following Price Order:-

PRELIMINARY

  1. This Order may be cited as Price Order No. 245, and shall come into force on the 12th day of June, 1944.
  2. In this Order the term "meat" includes all goods of any of the kinds or descriptions specified in the Schedule hereto.

APPLICATION OF THIS ORDER

  1. This Order applies with respect to retail sales of meat of any of the kinds or descriptions specified in the Schedule hereto.

FIXING MAXIMUM RETAIL PRICES OF MEAT TO WHICH THIS ORDER APPLIES

  1. (1) Subject to the following provisions of this clause, the maximum price that may be charged or received by any retailer for any meat to which this Order applies shall be the appropriate price fixed in the Schedule hereto.
    (2) If in respect of any lot of meat to which this Order applies the maximum price calculated in accordance with the provisions of this Order is not an exact number of pence or half-pence, the maximum price of the lot shall be computed to the nearest upward halfpenny.
    (3) No additional charges shall be made by a retailer for wrapping any meat to which this Order applies, or for trimming or other incidental and customary services performed in relation to the retailing of any such meat.

RETAILERS TO EXHIBIT RETAIL PRICES

  1. Every retailer who offers or exposes for sale any meat to which this Order applies shall keep in a prominent position in such proximity to that meat as to be obviously in relation thereto a ticket, placard, or label showing in legible and prominent characters the retail price per pound or per unit, as the case may be.

Notice to Persons affected by Applications for Licenses under Part III of the Industrial Efficiency Act, 1936

Taking of Fish for Sale

J. F. Crapper, 23 Beachville Avenue, Nelson, has applied for a variation in the conditions of his industrial fishing license in respect of the vessel "Roma," NN. 719, using set-nets, drag-nets, long lines, and hand-lines, operating into Nelson, so as to permit him to also operate into Picton and French Pass.
A. T. Christoffersen, 178A Nile Street East, Nelson, has applied for a license to permit him to operate his 23 ft. 18 h.p. engined launch "Venture" (not yet registered), using set-nets, drag-nets, long lines, hand-lines, and crayfish-pots, catches to be landed at Nelson and French Pass.
I. S. Barr, 13 Alton Street, Nelson, and G. A. Henderson, 47 Cambria Street, Nelson, have applied for licenses to permit them to operate their fishing-launch "Ramona," WGN. 168, using trawl-nets, set-nets, drag-nets, long lines, hand-lines, and crayfish-pots, catches to be landed at Nelson.
W. H. Parker, Heretaunga Street, Hastings, has applied for a variation in the conditions of his industrial fishing license in respect of his fishing-vessel "Kaihe," using drag-nets, long lines, hand-lines, and crayfish-pots, catches landed at Napier, so as to permit him to also use trawl-nets.

Persons considering themselves materially affected by the decision of the Bureau of Industry on these applications should make any desired representations in writing not later than the 22nd June, 1944, to G. L. O'Halloran, Secretary, Bureau of Industry, G.P.O. Box 3025, Wellington.
