SCHEDULE

CONDITIONS

  1. THIS license is subject to the Foreshore License Regulations
    1940, and the provisions of those regulations shall, so far as
    applicable, apply hereto.

  2. The premium payable by the licensee shall be one
    pound (£1), and the annual sum so payable one pound (£1).

  3. The term of the license shall be fourteen years from
    the 13th day of May, 1944.

At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 31st day
of May, 1944
Present:
THE HON. D. G. SULLIVAN PRESIDING IN COUNCIL
WHEREAS by Order in Council dated the twenty-eighth
day of February, one thousand nine hundred and
thirty-three, and published in the Gazette of the ninth day
of the following month, at page 425, Rupert George Skilton
(hereinafter called “the licensee”) was licensed to occupy a
part of the foreshore and land below low-water mark in the
Onekaka River, Golden Bay, in order to maintain a wharf
thereon:
And whereas the licensee has applied to have the herein-
before-recited Order in Council revoked, and it is desirable to
revoke the same:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of
the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of
the power and authority vested in him by the Harbours Act,
1923, and of all other powers and authorities enabling him
in that behalf, and acting by and with the advice and consent
of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby
revoke the hereinbefore-recited Order in Council of the twenty-
eighth day of February, one thousand nine hundred and
thirty-three, as from the first day of April, one thousand nine
hundred and forty-four.

Extending the Time for forwarding the Report of the Commission
appointed to inquire into and report on certain Proposed Develop-
mental Works near the Mouth of the Hutt River

To all to whom these presents shall come, and to The Honourable
Sir Francis Vernon Frazer, Knight, of Wellington, John Wood,
Esquire, C.M.G., M.Inst.C.E., of Wellington, Civil Engineer,
and Drummond Holderness, Esquire, M.Inst.C.E., of Auckland,
Civil Engineer: GREETINGS.
WHEREAS by a Warrant dated the twenty-ninth day of
March, one thousand nine hundred and forty-four, you,
the said Francis Vernon Frazer, John Wood, and Drummond Hold-
ness, were constituted and appointed to be a Commission in terms
of the Commissions of Inquiry Act, 1908, to inquire into and report
on certain matters relating to proposed developmental works near
the mouth of the Hutt River, and upon such other matters arising
thereout as may come to your notice in the course of your inquiries
and which you consider should be investigated in connection there-
with, and upon any matters affecting the position which you consider
should be brought to the attention of the Government with the
object of ascertaining the necessity or desirability of the several
proposed works:
And whereas the time within which such Commission is required
to report to me expires on the thirtieth day of June, one thousand
nine hundred and forty-four :
And whereas it is expedient to extend the time within which
such Commission shall report to me for a further period of three
months—that is, until the thirtieth day of September, one thousand
nine hundred and forty-four :
Now, therefore, I, Cyril Louis Norton Newall, the Governor-
General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in exercise of the powers
conferred by the Commissions of Inquiry Act, 1908, and of all other
powers and authorities enabling me in this behalf, and acting by
and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the
said Dominion, do hereby declare and appoint that the time at or
before which you shall present to me your report aforesaid is hereby
extended to the thirtieth day of September, one thousand nine
hundred and forty-four :
And I do hereby declare that the provisions of the said Warrant
shall apply as fully and effectively in all respects as if the thirtieth
day of September, one thousand nine hundred and forty-four,
were the date for expiration originally fixed in the said Warrant.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General
of the Dominion of New Zealand, and issued under the
Seal of that Dominion, this 7th day of June, 1944.

Appointing Five Non-elective Members of the Wairarapa Catchment Board

forty-four of the Soil Conservation and Rivers Control Act,
1941, and of all other powers and authorities in anywise enabling
me in this behalf, I, Cyril Louis Norton Newall, the Governor-
General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby appoint—
Thomas Thoresby Caccia Birch, Esquire, M.A. (Oxon.), Assistant
Forester, State Forest Service, Wellington ;
Dr. Harry Howard Barton Allan, M.A., D.Sc., F.R.S.N.Z.,
Director, Botany Division, Department of Scientific and
Industrial Research, Wellington ;
James Duncan Clapperton, Esquire, Chief Surveyor, Depart-
ment of Lands and Survey, Wellington ;
Norman Lamont, Esquire, M.Agr.Sc., Instructor in Agri-
culture, Department of Agriculture, Masterton; and
Thomas Arthur Johnston, Esquire, B.E., A.M.I.C.E., District
Engineer, Public Works Department, Wellington,
to be non-elective members of the Wairarapa Catchment Board
for a term of three years commencing on the twenty-seventh day
of May, one thousand nine hundred and forty-four.
