Notice of Intention to take Land for a Public Work
NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1928, to take the land described in the Schedule hereto for a public work: And notice is hereby further given that the plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the post-office at Waipahi and is there open for inspection; and that all persons affected by the taking of the said land should, if they have any well-grounded objections to the taking of such land, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing, within forty days from the 23rd day of May, 1944, to the Minister of Works at Wellington.

The Servicemen's Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943.- Notice declaring Land taken for the Settlement of a Discharged Serviceman
WHEREAS an application has been made for the consent of the Land Sales Court to a transaction which relates to the land described in the Schedule hereto and to which Part III of the Servicemen's Settlement and Land Sales Act, 1943, applies:
And whereas the Land Sales Committee to which the application has been referred is of opinion that the land to which the application relates is farm land suitable or adaptable for the settlement of a discharged serviceman:
And whereas the said committee, not being satisfied that the Crown had decided not to acquire or arrange for the acquisition of the land, did on the 30th day of March, 1944, make an order determining the basic value of the land and no appeal from the said order was made within the time prescribed by the said Act or within any further time allowed by the Court:
And whereas the said land is not the land of any serviceman who is for the time being serving outside New Zealand in any of His Majesty's Forces or in any British ship:
Now, therefore, I, Clarence Farrington Skinner, Minister of Lands, acting in pursuance of section 51 of the said Act, do hereby declare that the said land is taken for the settlement of a discharged serviceman, and I hereby specify the 1st day of June, 1944, as the date on which the said land shall be deemed to be vested in His Majesty the King.
SCHEDULE
ALL that parcel of land containing seventy-seven (77) acres two (2) roods, more or less, being Section Forty (40), Block XIV, Ohura Survey District, and being the whole of the land comprised and described in certificate of title, Vol. 144, folio 141 (Taranaki Registry).

Exemption Order under the Transport Legislation Emergency Regulations 1940
PURSUANT to the Transport Legislation Emergency Regulations 1940, the Minister of Transport doth hereby order and declare that the provisions of clause (1) of Regulation 7 of the Motor-drivers Regulations 1940, so far as they relate to the driving of motor- omnibuses, shall not apply to the person hereinafter mentioned, but in lieu thereof the following provision shall apply:- A motor-driver's license issued under the Motor-drivers Regulations 1940 to the person described in Column 1 of the Schedule hereunder may authorize him to drive a motor-omnibus for the purpose of the business of the respective employer described in Column 2 of the said Schedule, but shall not authorize him, while he is under the age of twenty-one years, to drive a motor-omnibus for any other purpose.
