The National Service Emergency Regulations 1940.—Notice under Regulation 19 requiring Men, who have been called up for Service with the Armed Forces, to report
I, ALBERT EDWARD CONWAY, Adjutant-General, New Zealand Military Forces, and an authorized officer for the purpose of the above-mentioned regulations, do hereby give notice, pursuant to the provisions of Regulation 19 of the said regulations, that the men whose names, addresses, and descriptions are given in the Schedule attached (being men who have been called up in accordance with the said regulations for service with the Armed Forces), are required to report at the respective times and places shown in the said Schedule.

Economic Stabilization Emergency Regulations 1942.—Wartime Price Index
IN accordance with Regulation 41 of the Economic Stabilization Emergency Regulations 1942, it is hereby notified that the wartime price index as at the 15th day of March, 1944 (on base: 15th December, 1942 = 1000), was 1005. This figure indicates that, after seasonal adjustment has been made in respect of certain commodities the prices of which are subject to seasonal movement, the general level of prices of commodities, &c., included in the wartime price index was 0·5 per cent. higher at 15th March, 1944, than at 15th December, 1942.

CROWN LANDS NOTICES
Land in North Auckland Land District for Selection on Optional Tenures
North Auckland District Lands and Survey Office,
Auckland, 2nd May, 1944.
NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned section is open for selection on optional tenures under the Land Act, 1924; and applications will be received at the North Auckland District Lands and Survey Office, Auckland, up to 4 o’clock p.m. on Monday, 19th June, 1944.
Applicants should appear personally for examination at the North Auckland District Lands and Survey Office, Auckland, on Wednesday, 21st June, 1944, at 10 o’clock a.m., but if any applicant is unable to attend he may be examined by any other Land Board or by any Commissioner of Crown Lands.
The ballot will be held immediately upon conclusion of the examination of applicants, and the successful applicant is required to pay immediately at conclusion of ballot a deposit comprising the first half-year’s rent, broken-period rent, lease fee, and deposit in reduction of weighting for improvements.
SCHEDULE
NORTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.—SECOND-CLASS LAND
Mangonui County.—Takahue Survey District
PART Section 6, Block XIV: Area, 550 acres. Capital value, £435. Deposit on deferred payments, £35: Half-yearly instalment on deferred payments (term: 34½ years), £13. Renewable lease: Half-yearly rent, £10 17s. 6d.
Weighted with £1,630 for improvements, comprising dwelling, washhouse and man’s room, wool-shed and yards, sheep-dip, 92 chains road-fence, 406 chains internal fencing, 152 chains boundary-fencing, and 450 acres felled, burned, and grassed. This sum is payable in cash, or, after payment of a deposit of £65, the balance may be paid (a) as to £1,200, over a term of thirty-six years and a half by half-yearly instalments of £36 principal and interest combined; (b) as to £365, by a first mortgage in favour of the State Advances Corporation—terms of repayment to be arranged between the applicant and the Corporation prior to the ballot.
This is quite a fair grazing property fronting Diggers Valley, Kaitaia Main Road (metalled), about twenty-three miles from Awanui; school bus passes gate. About 250 acres easy hills, 210 acres hilly, balance steep and broken. There is a good permanent water-supply, and the soil is clay on sandstone. Altitude, 400 ft. to 700 ft. above sea-level.
