IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by section
forty-four of the Public Reserves, Domains, and National
Parks Act, 1928, His Excellency the Governor-General of the
Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and
consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby
appoint
Donald Cameron Beloe,
George Mawson McAlpine,
Alan John Milliken,
Arthur Watt Tyler, and
Arthur Woolsey
to be the Patumahoe Domain Board, having control of the land
described in the Schedule hereto ; and doth hereby appoint Tuesday,
the ninth day of May, one thousand nine hundred and forty-four,

THE HON. D. G. SULLIVAN PRESIDING IN COUNCIL
BY virtue of the powers and authorities vested in me by the
thirty-fourth section of the Public Reserves, Domains, and
National Parks Act, 1928, I, Cyril Louis Norton Newall, the Governor-
General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the
advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion,
do hereby order and declare that the reserve for recreation in the
Westland Land District, described in the Schedule hereto, shall be
and the same is hereby brought under the operation of, and declared
to be subject to, the provisions of Part II of the said Act ; and
such reserve shall hereafter be known as the Ngahere Domain, and
be managed, administered, and dealt with as a public domain.

Vesting the Control of a Reserve in the Cave Stock Reserve Board

ORDER IN COUNCIL
At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 19th day of
April, 1944
Present:
THE HON. D. G. SULLIVAN PRESIDING IN COUNCIL
WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto is a
reserve duly set apart for a resting-place for travelling
stock and a site for a stock saleyard: And whereas it is expedient
that the control of the said reserve should be vested in a special
Board as hereinafter provided:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the
Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent
of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, and in exercise of
the powers and authorities conferred upon him by section seventeen
of the Public Reserves, Domains, and National Parks Act, 1928,
doth hereby vest the control of the reserve described in the Schedule
hereto, for the period of five years from the date hereof (unless
previously amended or revoked under the said Act), in the
undermentioned persons, namely:—
Joseph Guerin,
Dugald Beaufort Cameron, and
Alexander McPherson,
who are hereby constituted for that purpose a special Board by the
name of the Cave Stock Reserve Board (hereinafter referred to
as “the Board”), with the powers and subject to the conditions
hereinafter contained, that is to say:—
(1) The first meeting of the Board shall be held on Monday,
the twenty-fourth day of April, one thousand nine hundred and
forty-four, and thereafter the Board shall meet at such time and
place as may from time to time be fixed by the Board.
(2) The members of the Board shall at their first meeting, and
thereafter at an annual meeting to be held at a time fixed by the
Board, elect one of themselves to be Chairman, who may join in
the discussion and shall have an original as well as a casting vote.
The Chairman shall hold office until the election of his successor.
If at any meeting the Chairman is not present at the time appointed
for holding the same, the members present shall choose one of their
number to be chairman of such meeting.
(3) Special meetings may be convened by the Chairman,
provided that two days’ notice of any such meeting is given to
each member, specifying the business to be transacted at such
special meeting; and no other business than that so specified shall
be transacted at such meeting.
(4) If by resignation, death, incapacity, or otherwise, the seat
of any member shall be or become vacant, or if any member absents
himself without reasonable cause from three consecutive meetings
of the Board, the Governor-General shall have power to appoint
any other person to be a member of the Board in his stead.
(5) The Board shall control the said reserve for the purpose
of providing accommodation for travelling stock, and, if necessary,
for the purpose of a stock saleyard, and the reserve shall at all
times be available for such purposes.
(6) The charges for grazing and paddocking stock shall not
exceed two shillings per hundred head for sheep and twopence per
head for cattle. Provision shall be made for keeping different
flocks of sheep and herds of cattle separate as far as possible.
(7) Except under stress of weather, or in cases where roads
are temporarily impassable, no stock which has been accommodated
in the reserve for one night and one day shall be permitted to
remain therein for any longer period if other stock requires
accommodation which could not otherwise be provided except
by the removal of the stock already in the reserve.
(8) Except for the purpose of consuming feed running to waste
and keeping the pasture in good order, no stock other than
travelling stock, and one horse as may be required for the use of
the caretaker appointed by the Board, shall be permitted to graze
within the boundaries of the said reserve.

or less.

Revoking Previous Orders in Council and Reapportioning Repre-
sentation on the Poverty Bay Electric-power Board

ORDER IN COUNCIL
At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 21st day of
April, 1944
Present:
THE HON. D. G. SULLIVAN PRESIDING IN COUNCIL
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by the
Electric-power Boards Act, 1925, and of every other power
in anywise enabling him in that behalf, His Excellency the
Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and
with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said
Dominion, doth hereby revoke, as from the date of the next general
election of the representatives of the constituent districts of the
Poverty Bay Electric-power District, all previous Orders in Council
apportioning representation on the Poverty Bay Electric-power
Board, and doth hereby determine, in lieu thereof, that on and
after the said date the number of representatives of each constituent
district on the said Board shall be the number specified in the
Schedule hereto opposite the name of that constituent district ;
and doth further determine that the constituent districts which
are bracketed together in the first column of the Schedule hereto
are hereby constituted combined districts for the purposes of the
said Act, and that the local authority of the constituent district
distinguished in the first column of the Schedule hereto by the
letter “(P)” shall be the principal local authority of each such
combined district; and doth further determine that the first election
of the representatives of the constituent districts of the counties
of Uawa and Waiapu shall be held on the date of the said next
general election.
