Taking of Fish for Sale
P. N. McKellar, "Vaila," Half-moon Bay, Stewart Island, has applied for a license to permit him to operate his 22 ft. 16 h.p. engined launch "Benghazi" (not yet registered), using set-nets and hand lines, catches to be landed at Oban, Half-moon Bay.
F. H. W. Traill, Half-moon Bay, Stewart Island, has applied for a license to permit him to operate the fishing-launch "Grace," using hand lines, catches to be landed at Half-moon Bay.
E. Beazley, Rawene, Hokianga, has applied for a license to permit him to operate his fishing-boat "Mary," using set-nets, long lines, and hand-lines, catches to be landed at Rawene.
A. Robertson, 89 Hine Street, New Plymouth, has applied for a license to permit him to operate the fishing-vessel "Te Kura," NPH. 11, using long lines, hand-lines, and crayfish-pots, catches to be landed at New Plymouth.
Fish Retailing
C. Candiliotis, 151 Jackson Street, Petone, has applied for a fish-retailer's license to permit him to sell cooked fish from his restaurant premises at that address known as the "Central Cafe."
E. George, 258 Jackson Street, Petone, has applied for a fish-retailer's license to permit him to sell cooked fish from his restaurant premises at that address known as the "Grand Cafe."
H. Manson, Emu Plains, has applied for a fish-retailer's license to permit him to sell wet fish from shop premises in Akaroa, and also to hawk fish for sale once a week between Akaroa and Little River, and in the latter district.
Manufacture for Sale of Footwear
W. H. Jackson, 561 Dominion Road, Auckland, has applied for a license to commence the manufacture of women's and children's sandals by the machine-sewn process.
Manufacture for Sale of Macaroni
G. Robert, 14 Armadale Road, Remuera, Auckland, has applied for a license to commence in the above industry to the extent of manufacturing egg noodles.
Persons considering themselves materially affected by the decision of the Bureau of Industry on these applications should make any desired representations in writing not later than the 13th April, 1944, to G. L. O'Halloran, Secretary, Bureau of Industry, G.P.O. Box 3025, Wellington.

CROWN LANDS NOTICES
Land in Taranaki Land District for Selection on Optional Tenures
District Lands and Survey Office,
New Plymouth, 28th March, 1944.
NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned sections are open for selection on optional tenures under the Land Act, 1924; and applications will be received at the District Lands and Survey Office, New Plymouth, up to 4 o'clock p.m. on Monday, 24th April, 1944.
Applicants should appear personally for examination at the District Lands and Survey Office, New Plymouth, on Wednesday, 26th April, 1944, at 10.30 o'clock a.m., but if any applicant is unable to attend he may be examined by any other Land Board or by any Commissioner of Crown Lands.
Applicants are required to produce for inspection when examined documentary evidence of their financial position and farming experience.
The ballot will be held immediately upon conclusion of the examination of applicants, and the successful applicant is required to pay immediately at conclusion of ballot a deposit comprising the first half-year's rent, broken-period rent, lease and mortgage fees, and deposit on account of improvement loading.

TARANAKI LAND DISTRICT.—SECOND-CLASS LAND
Waitomo County.—Mapara Survey District
SECTIONS 13 and 28, Block XI : Area, 520 acres. Capital value, £385. Deposit on deferred payments (term : 34½ years), £20 : Half-yearly instalment on deferred payments, £11 17s. 3d. Renewable lease : Half-yearly rent, £7 14s.
Weighted with £1,175 for improvements, comprising dwelling, cow-buye, garage, yards, 447 chains fencing, shelter-belts, bridges, 270 acres felled and grassed, 80 acres cultivated. This sum is payable in cash, or, after payment of a deposit of £385, the balance may be left on first mortgage to the State Advances Corporation for a term of thirty years repayable by half-yearly instalments of principal and interest of £24 9s. 8d. each. Cost of preparation of mortgage, £2, payable by selector.
This is a grazing property, on which a small herd could be milked, situated on the Taumarunui—Te Kuiti Road, two miles from Mapiu Post-office and School, and eleven miles from Kopaki Railway-station and Saleyards ; cream collected at property.
