Authorizing Ernest Herbert Brown, of Kaeo, Garage-proprietor, to erect certain Electric Lines in Portion of the Township of Kaeo

At the Government House at Wellington, this 22nd day of March, 1944

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by the Public Works Act, 1928, and of all other powers in anywise enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby authorize Ernest Herbert Brown, of Kaeo, Garage-proprietor (hereinafter referred to as “the licensee”), to lay, construct, put up, place, and use the electric lines described in the Schedule hereto on the following conditions.

CONDITIONS

  1. PURPOSES OF LINES

THE said lines may be used for lighting purposes only.

  1. LICENSE TO BE SUBJECT TO REGULATIONS

The license hereby conferred is subject to compliance by the licensee with the Electrical Wiring Regulations 1935 and the Electrical Supply Regulations 1935, and with all regulations made or to be made in amplification or amendment thereof or in substitution therefor.

The conditions directed to be implied in all licenses by the Electrical Supply Regulations 1935 shall be incorporated herein and shall form part of this license except in so far as the same may be inconsistent with the provisions hereof.

  1. SYSTEM OF SUPPLY

The system of supply shall be two-wire direct current. Electrical energy shall be transmitted at a pressure of 32 volts direct current between terminals.

  1. DURATION OF LICENSE

Unless lawfully determined, this license shall continue in force until the 31st day of March, 1964, or until electrical energy is available from an Electric-power Board or other general public source, whichever is the earlier.

SCHEDULE

LINES adapted for supply as prescribed in these presents for the transmission of electrical energy commencing from the licensee’s premises situated in Section 16, Block 3, Kaeo Survey District, and proceeding thence in a north-westerly direction across Leigh Street to the post-office situated in Section 12, Block 3, Kaeo Survey District; the same being more particularly delineated by means of a red line on plan marked P.W.D. 118607, deposited in the office of the Minister of Works at Wellington.

License granted under the Medical Act, 1908

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

WHEREAS the establishment of a School of Anatomy in connection with the University of Otago was authorized by Order in Council made on the thirtieth day of May, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-six, under the Anatomy Act, 1875, and published in the Gazette on the fifteenth day of June, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-six, at page 407, and enuring under the Medical Act, 1908:

And whereas William Edgar Adams, of Dunedin, Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery, Professor of Anatomy in the University of Otago, a registered medical practitioner engaged at the aforesaid school as a teacher of medicine, has made application for a license to practice anatomy and has complied with the provisions of section twenty-six of the Medical Act, 1908:

Now, therefore, in pursuance of the said section twenty-six, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, doth hereby license and authorize the said William Edgar Adams to practice anatomy at the aforesaid school.

Domain Board appointed to have Control of the Woodville Domain

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by section forty-four of the Public Reserves, Domains, and National Parks Act, 1928, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby appoint

George Peebles,
Richard Henry Morgan,
Arthur Clare Vowell,
Sydney Turnbull,
Martin David Murray,
Henry Palmer Horne, and
John Abercrombie Bolton

to be the Woodville Domain Board, having control of the land described in the Schedule hereto; and doth hereby appoint Monday, the first day of May, one thousand nine hundred and forty-four, at half past two o’clock p.m., as the time when, and the office of Mr. R. R. Johnston, Vogel Street, Woodville, as the place where, the first meeting of the Board shall be held.

SCHEDULE

WOODVILLE DOMAIN

ALL that area in the Hawke’s Bay Land District, containing by admeasurement 39 acres 3 roods 19 perches, more or less, being Rural Section 78, Block VIII, Woodville Survey District.

Also all that area in the Hawke’s Bay Land District, containing by admeasurement 24 acres and 16 perches, more or less, being Section 19, Block XIV, Woodville Survey District.

Also all that area in the Hawke’s Bay Land District, containing by admeasurement 45 acres 2 roods, more or less, being Section 1, Block XIII, Woodville Survey District.

Also all that area in the Wellington Land District, containing by admeasurement 100 acres 3 roods, more or less, being Section 40, Block I, Mangahao Survey District.

Also all that area in the Wellington Land District, containing by admeasurement 35 acres, more or less, being Section 41, Block I, Mangahao Survey District.

Also all that area in the Wellington and Hawke’s Bay Land Districts, containing by admeasurement 352 acres 2 roods 20 perches, more or less, being Sections 26, 27, and 38, Block I, Mangahao Survey District.

to be the Brydone Domain Board, having control of the land described in the Schedule hereto; and doth hereby appoint Monday, the first day of May, one thousand nine hundred and forty-four, at eight o’clock p.m., as the time when, and the Public Hall, Brydone, as the place where, the first meeting of the Board shall be held.

Changing the Purpose of Portions of a Reserve in Oxford Survey District, Canterbury Land District

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

WHEREAS the lands described in the Schedule hereto form portions of a reserve duly set apart for tramway and other purposes:

And whereas it is expedient that the purpose of the reservation over such lands shall be changed to reserves for plantation purposes:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, and in exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by subsection one (a) of section seven of the Public Reserves, Domains, and National Parks Act, 1928, doth hereby declare that the purpose of the reservation over the lands described in the Schedule hereto is hereby changed from reserves for tramway and other purposes to reserves for plantation purposes.
