THE following is the result of the triennial election of elective members of the Government Railways Superannuation Fund Board constituted under the Government Railways Act, 1926 :—

The Sawmilling Industry (Easter Holidays) Notice 1944
NOTICE is hereby given that, pursuant to Regulation 20 of the Industrial Man-power Emergency Regulations 1944, the Timber Controller hereby requires and directs as follows :—

This notice may be cited as the Sawmilling Industry (Easter Holidays) Notice 1944.

Subject to the provisions of this notice—
(a) Every undertaking in the sawmilling industry shall, in the week commencing on the 3rd day of April, 1944, be operated until a time not earlier than the usual closing-time on Wednesday, the 5th day of April, 1944 ; and
(b) Every worker who in that week is for the time being employed or engaged in or in connection with that undertaking shall in that week work until a time not earlier than the usual closing-time on Wednesday, the 5th day of April, 1944.
- (a) Every undertaking in the sawmilling industry shall, in the week commencing on the 10th day of April, 1944, be operated from a time not later than the usual commencing-time on Wednesday, the 12th day of April, 1944 ; and
(b) Every worker who in that week is for the time being employed or engaged in or in connection with that undertaking shall in that week work from a time not later than the usual commencing-time on Wednesday, the 12th day of April, 1944.
- (1) Where, pursuant to Regulation 20 of the Industrial Man-power Emergency Regulations 1944, any direction has been or is hereafter given by the Timber Controller in respect of any undertaking in the sawmilling industry requiring that undertaking to be operated for a specified number of hours in any week or requiring the workers employed or engaged in or in connection with that undertaking to work for a specified number of hours in any week, nothing contained in that direction shall apply with respect to the weeks commencing on the 3rd day of April, 1944, and the 10th day of April, 1944, respectively.
(2) Except as otherwise specially provided herein, the provisions of this notice shall be in addition to and not in derogation of the provisions of any such direction as aforesaid.
- Nothing in this notice shall be construed to require that any of the operations of any undertaking in the sawmilling industry be not carried on at any time during the period commencing at the usual closing-time on Wednesday, the 5th day of April, 1944, and ending at the usual commencing-time on Wednesday, the 12th day of April, 1944, or that any worker employed or engaged in or in connection with that undertaking shall cease to work at any time during that period.

EVIDENCE of the loss of certificate of title, Vol. 25, folio 59 (Marlborough Registry), for 14·6 perches, more or less, being Lot 2 on Deposited Plan No. 820, and being part of Section 4, District of Omaka, in the name of EMILY EVA FURNESS, of Blenheim, Married Woman, having been lodged with me together with an application for the issue of a new certificate of title in lieu thereof, notice is hereby given of my intention to issue such new certificate of title after fourteen days from the date of the Gazette containing this notice.
