Notice calling up Reservists for Service with the Armed Forces

National Service Department,
Wellington, 16th March, 1944.

IT is hereby notified for general information that, in pursuance
of the powers vested in me by Regulation 44 of the National
Service Emergency Regulations 1940, I have, on the 16th March,
1944, issued to-
Bozo Kumarich, Freezing-worker, 388 Manukau Road, Epsom,
Auckland, Registration No. 648130,
Donald Finlay McLennan, Farm Hand, Candy's Road, Pokuru,
via Te Awamutu, Registration No. 650242, and
Olaf Hemmingsen, Dairy-factory Hand, 20 Oakland Avenue,
Wanganui, Registration No. 652297,
notices calling them up for service with the Armed Forces, such
persons having been severally convicted for that, being reservists
belonging to a division of the Reserve the enrolment of which has
been proclaimed, they did fail to make application in writing for
enrolment in that class of the Reserve as required by Regulation
43 (1) of the National Service Emergency Regulations 1940.

Notice of Adoption under Part IX of the Native Land Act, 1931

IT is hereby notified that the order of adoption as set out in the
Schedule hereunder has been made by the Native Land Court
under the provisions of the Native Land Act, 1931.

Prohibition of the Sale of Declared Goods under Clause 9 (2) of the
Control of Prices Emergency Regulations 1939, Amendment No. 3

PURSUANT to the powers conferred on it by clause 9 (2) of the
Control of Prices Emergency Regulations 1939, Amendment
No. 3,* the price Tribunal hereby prohibits the sale by any persons
whomsoever, on and after the 1st day of April, 1944, of any goods
of a kind or class specified in the Schedule hereto (being goods
that have been declared under the Declared Goods (Control of
Prices) Notices 1944 (No. 1† and 2‡).
The prohibition of the sale by any person of any goods in
accordance with this notice shall cease to have effect with respect
to such goods-
(a) If and when a Price Order issued by the Tribunal comes
into force with respect to those goods ; or
(b) If and when the Tribunal authorizes to such person a selling-
price or a maximum selling-price for such goods.

SCHEDULE

CLASSES OF GOODS THE SALE OF WHICH IS PROHIBITED BY THIS
NOTICE

  1. Garments of any of the following kinds or classes, namely:-
    Blazers, gym frocks, knitted underwear, pyjamas, overalls
    (working-type only), men's and boys' two- and three-
    piece suits, shorts, trousers, coats, sports coats, shirts,
    jerseys.
  2. Suitings.
  3. Cotton and linen piece-goods of any of the following kinds
    or classes, namely :-
    Sheetings, pillow cotton, bleached cotton, cotton and flan-
    nelette blanketing, tea towelling, drill, duck, plain white
    damask, calico, towelling in white, brown, or striped,
    flannelette, winceyette, linen huck.
  4. Goods of any of the following kinds or classes, namely :-
    Sheets, pillowcases, towels, marcella and honeycomb quilts,
    nursery squares, cotton and flannelette blankets.
  5. Overcoatings.
  6. Tailor's trimmings.
  7. Exercise-books, drawing-books, writing-pads.
  8. Watches.

Declared Goods (Control of Prices) Notice 1944, No. 3
PURSUANT to the powers conferred on it by clause 9 (1) of the
Control of Prices Emergency Regulations 1939, Amendment
No. 3,* the Price Tribunal hereby gives the following notice:-
NOTICE AS TO DECLARED GOODS

  1. This notice may be cited as the Declared Goods (Control of
    Prices) Notice 1944, No. 3.
  2. All goods of any of the kinds or classes specified in the
    Schedule hereto are hereby declared to be goods to which the pro-
    visions of clause 9 of the Control of Prices Emergency Regulations
    1939, Amendment No. 3, are applicable.

SCHEDULE
CLASSES OF GOODS DECLARED TO BE SUBJECT TO CLAUSE 9 OF THE
CONTROL OF PRICES EMERGENCY REGULATIONS 1939, AMEND-
MENT No. 3

  1. Goods manufactured in the Provincial District of Canterbury
    from sheet tin (including tin plate), galvanized iron,
    and any combination of sheet tin and galvanized iron.
  2. Floor coverings.
  3. Furniture coverings and soft furnishings.
  4. Prams, push-chairs, strollers.
  5. Children's cots.
  6. Children's chairs.

EXPLANATORY NOTE
The foregoing notice does not operate as a prohibition of the
sale of any goods, but is only a preliminary declaration specifying
the several classes of goods with respect to which the Tribunal has
authority to prohibit sales under the powers conferred on it by
subclause (2) of clause 9 of the regulations cited in the notice. It
is not the intention of the Tribunal to exercise its powers of
prohibition (except in the event of special circumstances) for at
least four weeks after the publication of the above notice in the
Gazette. With respect to goods of the kinds specified in the Schedule
to the notice the Tribunal advises that application for its approval
of proposed prices should be made to the Tribunal as soon as possible,
and draws attention of all persons concerned to the fact that, at
any time after the expiration of four weeks from the publication
of the notice, it may proceed, in accordance with the powers conferred
on it by the regulations, to prohibit the sale of any such goods
otherwise than at prices fixed or approved by the Tribunal.

PURSUANT to section 4 of the Native Land Amendment Act,
1936, the Board of Native Affairs hereby declares the land
described in the Schedule hereto to be subject to Part I of the
said Act and included in the Okere Development Scheme.

PURSUANT to section 4 of the Native Land Amendment Act,
1936, the Board of Native Affairs hereby declares the land
described in the Schedule hereto to be subject to Part I of the said
Act and to be included in the Te Araroa Development Scheme.

SCHEDULE
ALL that area of land in the Tairawhiti Native Land Court District,
containing 1,094 acres, more or less, situate in Blocks X and XI,
East Cape Survey District, being Lot 1, D.P. 2208, and being also
part Marangairoa 1B 4 Block, and part of the land comprised and
described in certificate of title, Vol. 90, folio 63 (Gisborne Registry).
