NOTICE TO HOLDERS OF BEARER DEBENTURES COMPRISED IN THE SERIES OF £30,000 BEARER DEBENTURES ISSUED BY THE COMPANY
NOTICE is hereby given that a general meeting of the holders of debentures of the above-named company, constituted by trust deed dated the 14th day of October, 1931, and made between the said company of the one part and the New Zealand Insurance Company, Limited, as trustee, of the other part, will be held at the company’s office, Peel Street, Gisborne, on Monday, the 31st day of January, 1944, at 2.30 o’clock in the afternoon, for the purpose of considering and, if thought fit, passing extraordinary resolutions:—

That the date for the payment of the principal sum secured by the debentures be extended to the 1st day of February, 1949.

That as from the 1st day of February, 1944, the interest payable under the debentures shall be £3 10s. in place of £4 5s. per centum per annum.

Agreeing to exchange the existing debentures for new debentures in conformity with the resolutions passed at this meeting.

Authorizing the New Zealand Insurance Company, Limited, to enter into a deed with this company modifying the existing trust deed to conform with the above resolutions and/or any other resolutions passed at the meeting and accepted by this company.

THE NORTH AUCKLAND ELECTRIC-POWER BOARD
RETICULATION LOAN, 1943, £20,000
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE
NOTICE is hereby given that at a meeting of the North Auckland Electric-power Board held on the 13th day of January, 1944, the following resolution was passed:—
“In pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, the North Auckland Electric-power Board hereby resolves as follows:—
“That, for the purpose of providing the principal, interest, and other charges on a loan of £20,000, authorized to be raised by the North Auckland Electric-power Board under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of supplying and distributing electric energy for the benefit of the constituent districts of Hobson County, Whangarei County, Otamatea County, Dargaville Borough, and Hikurangi Town, within the North Auckland Electric-power District, and for such purpose to do all or any of such matters and things which the Board is empowered to do by the Electric-power Boards Act, 1925, and its amendments, and in particular but without limiting in any way any of the aforesaid powers, to provide, erect, and construct additions and extensions to the present system of electrical distribution and reticulation, to purchase plant, land, easements, general equipment, and any existing electrical installations and plant, to erect buildings, and to make provision for financial assistance to consumers and for trading purposes as provided by the said Act, the said the North Auckland Electric-power Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of five forty-eighths of a penny (5/48d.) in the pound upon the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property of the aforesaid constituent districts of Hobson County, Whangarei County, Otamatea County, Dargaville Borough, and Hikurangi Town, comprising the whole of the North Auckland Electric-power District as constituted prior to the inclusion therein of the Kamo Town District; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable yearly on the 14th day of January in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty years or until the loan is fully paid off.”

EDUCATION BOARD OF THE DISTRICT OF SOUTHLAND
NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND
In the matter of the Education Act, 1914, and of the Public Works Act, 1928.
NOTICE is hereby given that the Education Board of the District of Southland proposes, under the provisions of the above-mentioned Acts, to execute a certain public work—namely, the establishment of a public school—and for the purposes of such public work the leasehold estate and interest in the land described in the Schedule hereto held from His Majesty the King by John McLeary, of Mataura Island, Farmer, under and by virtue of a lease in perpetuity entered in Register-book, Vol. 74, folio 154 (Southland Registry), is required to be taken: And notice is hereby further given that a plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the office of the Department of Lands and Survey, Invercargill, as No. S.O. 5595, and is open for inspection by all persons without fee during ordinary office hours.
All persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of the said leasehold estate and interest in the said lands who have any well-founded objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of the said leasehold estate and interest in the said land must state their objections in writing, and send the same, within forty days of the first publication of this notice, to the Education Board at its office in Tay Street, Invercargill aforesaid.
SCHEDULE
ALL that piece of land situated in the Hundred of Oteramika, containing four acres and seven perches (4 acres 0 roods 7 perches), be the same a little more or less, being part Section 119E, Edendale Settlement, Block XI, on the public map of the said Hundred, and being part of the land comprised and described in lease in perpetuity entered in Register-book, Vol 74, folio 154.
