Lands in the Nelson Land District forfeited
Department of Lands and Survey, Wellington, 18th January, 1944.
NOTICE is hereby given that the leases of the undermentioned lands having been declared forfeit by resolution of the Nelson Land Board, the said lands have thereby reverted to the Crown under the provisions of the Land Act, 1924.

Land in Auckland Land District for Selection on Optional Tenures
Auckland District Lands and Survey Office,
Auckland, 18th January, 1944.
NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned property is open for selection on optional tenures under the Land Act, 1924; and applications will be received at the Auckland District Lands and Survey Office, Auckland, up to 11 o’clock a.m. on Monday, 28th February, 1944.
Applicants should appear personally for examination at the Auckland District Lands and Survey Office, Auckland, on Tuesday, 29th February, 1944, at 10.30 o’clock a.m., but if any applicant is unable to attend he may be examined by any other Land Board or by any Commissioner of Crown Lands.
Applicants are required to produce for inspection when examined documentary evidence of their financial position and farming experience.
The ballot will be held immediately upon conclusion of the examination of applicants, and the successful applicant will be required to pay immediately at conclusion of ballot a deposit comprising the first half-year’s rent, broken-period rent, and lease fee.

AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.—THIRD-CLASS LAND
Thames County.—Thames Survey District
SECTION 12, Block IX: Area, 293 acres. Capital value, £110. Deposit on deferred payments, £5: Half-yearly instalment on deferred payments, £3 8s. 3d. Renewable lease: Half-yearly rent, £2 4s.
This property is suitable for development as a grazing run-off to be used in conjunction with other land on Hauraki Plains. It is situated fronting Kirikiri Road, twelve miles from Thames; access is by four miles unmetalled road from Kopu Road. Easy undulating to hilly and broken country in bush scrub and second growth. The soil is clay loam on clay formation, fairly well watered by streams.
Special Condition
As the section is offered for grazing purposes only the Crown will not be liable for providing any better access than that already exists.

Applicants should appear personally for examination at the District Lands and Survey Office, Napier, on Thursday, 9th March, 1944, at 10.30 o’clock a.m., but if any applicant is unable to attend he may be examined by any other Land Board or by any Commissioner of Crown Lands.
Applicants are required to produce documentary evidence of their farming experience and financial position.
The ballot will be held immediately upon conclusion of the examination of applicants, and the successful applicant is required to pay immediately at conclusion of ballot a deposit comprising the first half-year’s rent, broken-period rent, lease fee, and amount of weighting for improvements.

Hawke’s Bay County.—Puketapu Survey District
SECTION 27, Block XII: Area, 15 acres 2 roods 35 perches. Capital value, £140. Deposit on deferred payments, £20: Half-yearly instalment on deferred payments (term: twenty years), £5 0s. 4d. Renewable lease: Half-yearly rent, £2 16s. Weighted with £120 for improvements, comprising cottage, cow-shed, outhouses, plantation, roadway, and fencing. This sum is payable in cash, or, after payment of a deposit of £20, the balance may be paid by ten half-yearly instalments of £10 each with interest at 5 per cent. on the unpaid balance.
This property is situated about three-quarters of a mile from Bay View Post-office, with the Railway-station one mile and a half distant, access being by good metalled road. The soil is black loam on clay and sandstone. Water-supply is by tank, and electric light is installed in the cottage. The property is suitable for a worker’s home.
