NOTICE OF CHANGE OF CHRISTIAN NAMES

I, DAN FRANCIS DRUMMOND, of Gisborne, Station Hand, at present a member of the Royal New Zealand Air Force, lately called PHILIP GROVES DRUMMOND, hereby give notice that on the 25th day of February, 1944, I formally and absolutely renounced, relinquished, and abandoned the use of my said Christian names of PHILIP GROVES and then assumed and adopted and determined thenceforth on all occasions whatsoever to use and subscribe the Christian names of DAN FRANCIS instead of the said Christian names of PHILIP GROVES : And I give further notice that by a deed-poll dated the 25th day of February, 1944, duly executed and filed in the Supreme Court of New Zealand at Gisborne on the 28th day of February, 1944, I formally and absolutely renounced and abandoned the said Christian names of PHILIP GROVES and declared that I had assumed and adopted and intended thenceforth upon all occasions whatsoever to use and subscribe the Christian names DAN FRANCIS instead of PHILIP GROVES, and so as to be at all times thereafter called, known, and described by the Christian names of DAN FRANCIS exclusively.

THE HAWKE’S BAY COUNTY COUNCIL

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO EXECUTE WORKS AND TO TAKE LAND
—
PURSUANT to section 22 of the Public Works Act, 1928, notice is hereby given that the Hawke’s Bay County Council proposes, under the powers conferred by the Counties Act, 1920, to execute a certain public work—namely, the laying out and construction of a road—and that accordingly the lands described in the Schedule hereto are required to be taken for the purpose of a road : Notice is further given that a plan of the lands required to be taken for the purpose aforesaid is deposited in the office of the Hawke’s Bay County Council in Browning Street, Napier, and is open for inspection by all persons during ordinary office hours.
All persons affected by the execution of the said works or by the taking of the said lands who have any well-grounded objections to the execution of the said works or to the taking of the said lands must set forth their objections in writing, and send the same to the Hawke’s Bay County Council at its said office on or before the 13th day of April, 1944, being a date not less than forty days from the first publication of this notice.
THE SCHEDULE
APPROXIMATE areas of the pieces of land proposed to be taken :—
(a) 1 rood 34 perches, part West Clive Suburban Section 39, Block II, Clive Survey District, shown on Survey Office plan numbered 2104 (red), and thereon coloured sepia ;
(b) 2 roods 13·1 perches, part West Clive Suburban Section 40, Block II, Clive Survey District, shown on Survey Office plan numbered 2104 (red), and thereon coloured blue ;
(c) 1 acre 0 roods 13 perches, part West Clive Suburban Section 42, Block II, Clive Survey District, shown on Survey Office plan numbered 2104 (red), and thereon coloured orange ;
all the said parcels of land being situated in the County of Hawke’s Bay and in the Land District and Land Registration District of Hawke’s Bay. As the same are more particularly delineated on the said Survey Office plan numbered 2104 (red), and thereon coloured as mentioned above.

Ordinary Weekly Gazette: For the first 32 pages, 9d., increasing by 3d. for every subsequent 16 pages or part thereof; postage, 1d.
Supplementary and Extraordinary Gazettes: For the first 8 pages, 6d.; over 8 pages and not exceeding 32 pages, 9d., increasing by 3d. for every subsequent 16 pages or part thereof; postage, 1d.
Advertisements are charged at the rate of 6d. per line for the first insertion, and 3d. per line for the second and any subsequent insertions.
All advertisements should be written on one side of the paper, and signatures, &c., should be written in a legible hand.
The number of insertions required must be written across the face of the advertisement.
The New Zealand Gazette is published on Thursday evening of each week, and notices for insertion must be received by the Government Printer before 12 o’clock of the day preceding publication.

(1) A list of members of the 1st New Zealand Expeditionary Force killed in action, died of wounds inflicted, of accidents occurring, or disease contracted while on active service.
(2) Those who died after discharge from the 1st New Zealand Expeditionary Force from wounds inflicted or disease contracted while on active service up to 31st December, 1923.
(3) Those who died from accident occurring or disease contracted while training with or attached to the 1st New Zealand Expeditionary Force of New Zealand.
