THE following special order made by the Clutha County Council is published in accordance with the provisions of the Counties Amendment Act, 1931.

SPECIAL ORDER

THE following motion passed at the special meeting held on 26th October, 1943, was moved for confirmation as a special order and confirmed :—

“That the separate Riding Accounts be closed, and that in future the finance be all under General Account in accordance with section 2 of the Counties Amendment Act, 1931.”

The Industrial Conciliation and Arbitration Amendment Act, 1939.—Partial Cancellation of Registration of Industrial Union and Partial Cancellation of Award

WHEREAS in respect of discontinuances of employment by members of the Auckland Road Transport and Motor and Horse Drivers’ and their Assistants’ Industrial Union of Workers, the Minister of Labour is satisfied that such discontinuances have caused or are likely to cause serious loss or inconvenience and that they have been brought about wholly or partly by such members:

Now, therefore, the Minister of Labour hereby gives notice that in exercise of the powers in that behalf conferred upon him by section 2 of the Industrial Conciliation and Arbitration Amendment Act, 1939, he does hereby cancel, in respect of that locality which comprises the area lying within a radius of twenty-five miles from the Chief Post Office in the City of Auckland, the registration of the Auckland Road Transport and Motor and Horse Drivers’ and their Assistants’ Industrial Union of Workers, Registered No. 240, as from the date of the publication of this notice in the Gazette.

NOTE.—In pursuance of subsection (4) of section 2 of the Industrial Conciliation and Arbitration Amendment Act, 1939, all awards of the Court of Arbitration in so far as they relate to the Auckland Road Transport and Motor and Horse Drivers’ and their Assistants’ Industrial Union of Workers are deemed to be cancelled in respect of the area lying within a radius of twenty-five miles from the Chief Post Office in the City of Auckland following on the above cancellation of registration.

The Hastings Fruit and Vegetable Canning Employees’ Labour Legislation Suspension Order, 1943

IN pursuance of the Labour Legislation Emergency Regulations 1940, the Minister of Labour doth hereby order as follows:—

  1. This Order may be cited as the Hastings Fruit and Vegetable Canning Employees’ Labour Legislation Suspension Order 1943.

  2. This Order applies to female workers employed by J. Wattie Canneries, Ltd., Hastings, on work coming within the scope of the Wellington Industrial District Grocers Sundries (Canning) Employees’ award dated 19th day of December, 1939, and recorded in 39 Book of Awards 1907.

  3. The provisions of all Acts and all regulations and Orders thereunder and of all awards and industrial agreements under the Industrial Conciliation and Arbitration Act, 1925, and of all other voluntary agreements affecting conditions of employment, are hereby suspended in so far as they operate to prevent the employment of the workers referred to in clause 2 hereof on the basis of three shifts in every twenty-four hours or on any Saturday or Sunday or on overtime work for not more than four hours per day, but such suspension shall be subject to the terms and conditions hereinafter set forth.

  4. When shifts are being worked each worker shall receive in addition to the wages prescribed by the award hereinbefore mentioned the sum of 3s. per shift for each shift worked.

  5. Workers employed on Saturdays or Sundays shall be paid remuneration at the rate of time and a half.

  6. This Order shall operate from the 1st day of December in each year until the 30th day of April in the following year, and shall be deemed to have come into effect on 1st December, 1943.

Exemption Order under the Transport Legislation Emergency Regulations 1940

PURSUANT to the Transport Legislation Emergency Regulations 1940, the Minister of Transport doth hereby order and declare that the provisions of clause (1) of Regulation 7 of the Motor-drivers Regulations 1940, so far as they relate to drivers of heavy trade-motors, shall not apply to Clive Thomas Craig.

The Balclutha Milk Delivery Notice 1943

PURSUANT to Regulation 4 of the Delivery Emergency Regulations 1942, the Minister of Transport doth hereby give notice as follows :—

  1. This notice may be cited as the Balclutha Milk Delivery Notice 1943.

  2. This notice shall come into force on the day after the date of publication thereof in the Gazette.

  3. The scheme set out in the Schedule hereto is hereby provided for the district described in the said Schedule.

  4. The Balclutha Milk Delivery Scheme 1942 and the amendment thereof* are hereby consequently revoked.

SCHEDULE

THE BALCLUTHA MILK DELIVERY SCHEME, 1943

(1) For the purposes of this scheme, unless the context otherwise requires,—

“The district” means all that area forming the Borough of Balclutha as at present constituted (including the Balclutha Hospital), the adjacent area to the south of the borough known as Rosebank, and the Township of Benhar.

(2) The names of the vendors who are parties to this scheme and the areas in which they may deliver milk are as follows :—

Name. Area.
Milk Sales (Retail), Ltd., Clyde Street, Balclutha The whole of the district.
