- Excess Luggage
Paragraph 1: By omitting the words “over three years and not exceeding twelve years of age,” and substituting the words “4 years of age and under 14 years of age.”
By adding the following new paragraph:—
15A. The following are the shipping company’s charges between Wellington and Nelson:—
Bona fide personal luggage (free allowance inclusive of workmen’s tools, 1 cwt. per adult passenger), 2s. 7d. per 56 lb. or fraction of 56 lb.
Samples (free allowance inclusive of bona fide personal luggage, 1 cwt. per adult passenger), 1s. 8d. per 56 lb. or fraction of 56 lb. (up to 15 cwt.).
Samples (in quantities over 15 cwt.), goods rates.
Goods rates (no free allowance), 2s. 7d. per 56 lb. or fraction of 56 lb.
Bicycles, 6s. 8d. each.
Bicycles, motor, 15s. 8d. each.
Bicycles, motor, with side-car, 31s. 4d. each.
Sewing-machines, 6s. 8d. each.
†Fruit, 1s. per case.
*Minimum charge per consignment comprising one or more of the items listed in this paragraph, 3s.
†If no other items of excess luggage are carried the minimum charge of 3s. will not apply.
For the purposes of this paragraph “shipping company” has the same meaning as is prescribed by paragraph 19, Regulation 45.
By adding to paragraph 16 the following:—
Nelson Harbour Board—
Bona fide personal luggage (exclusive of workmen’s tools or samples) up to 1 cwt., free.
Excess luggage (including workmen’s tools and samples) computed on weight, outwards, 2d. per cwt.; inwards, 3d. per cwt. or fraction thereof. Minimum charge, 6d.

GENERAL
- Packing of Goods
By omitting paragraph 6 and substituting the following:—
Where goods which, in the opinion of the Department, require protection, are proffered unprotected or with protection which in the opinion of the Department is insufficient, such goods will be received, held, carried, and delivered only at the sole risk in every respect whatsoever of the owner.
- Live-stock
By adding to paragraph 4 the following: “The Department will not be responsible for any particular number of live-stock specified as having been loaded into any particular truck for carriage by rail.”
- Lake Wakatipu Steamer Service
