NOTICE is hereby given that, pursuant to the authority conferred on the Bureau of Industry under Part III of the Industrial Efficiency Act, 1936, the following decisions have been made in respect of applications for licenses.

Notice to Persons affected by Applications for Licenses under Part III of the Industrial Efficiency Act, 1936

Manufacture for Sale of Footwear

MESSRS. Downing, Limited, Colombo Street, Christchurch, have applied for a license to commence the manufacture of men’s, women’s, youths’, maids’, and children’s footwear by the machine-sewn, fairstitch, welted, cemented, riveted, screwed, and Veldtschoen processes, sales to be confined to applicants’ own shops only.

C. A. Mason and Son, 411 New North Road, Auckland, have applied for an extension of their existing footwear license to permit the manufacture of children’s and maids’ footwear by the stuck-on and cemented processes.

Persons considering themselves materially affected by the decision of the Bureau of Industry on these applications should make any desired representations in writing not later than the 14th October, 1943, to G. L. O’Halloran, Secretary, Bureau of Industry, G.P.O. Box 3025, Wellington.

NEW ZEALAND.—SOUTH ISLAND.—PUYSEGUR POINT

Alterations in Light

Position: As given on charts: Lat., 46° 10′ S.; long., 166° 37′ E. (approx.). Chart No. 2589.

Abridged description: Fl. 15 sec., 147 ft. 18 M.

Alterations: The period has been altered from 10 to 15 secs. Visibility from 19 to 18 miles. Old tower destroyed and replaced by white concrete tower 18 ft. Elevation reduced to 147 ft. Light changed from incandescent oil to electric.

Charts affected: Nos. 720, 2589, 1212.
