A PROCLAMATION
WHEREAS it has been found desirable for the use, convenience, and enjoyment of the Picton-Hurunui Railway to take further land at Blenheim in addition to land previously acquired for the purposes of the said railway :
Now, therefore, I, Cyril Louis Norton Newall, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in exercise of the powers and authorities conferred on me by sections thirty-four and two hundred and sixteen of the Public Works Act, 1928, and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in this behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land described in the Schedule hereto is hereby taken for the purposes above mentioned.
SCHEDULE
APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land : 10·83 perches.
Being part Section 3 (Drain Reserve), Omaka R.D.
Situated in the Borough of Blenheim. (S.O. 3759.)
In the Marlborough Land District; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked L.O. 7062, deposited in the office of the Minister of Railways at Wellington, and thereon coloured blue.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, and issued under the Seal of that Dominion, this 8th day of September, 1943.

Crown Land set apart as a Permanent State Forest

A PROCLAMATION
BY virtue and in exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by section eighteen of the Forests Act, 1921-22, I, Cyril Louis Norton Newall, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby set apart the Crown land described in the Schedule hereto as a permanent State forest.
SCHEDULE
SOUTHLAND LAND DISTRICT.—SOUTHLAND CONSERVANCY
ALL those areas in the Southland Land District, Wallace County, containing by admeasurement 1,049 acres 3 roods 31 perches, more or less, and described as follows :—
All that area containing 592 acres 2 roods 31 perches, more or less, being Sections 2 and 3, Block XXII, Jacobs River Hundred.
Also all that area containing 457 acres 1 rood, being Section 25, parts Sections 24 and 31, Block XVII, Jacobs River Hundred, and water-race reserved and bounded as follows: Towards the east by Centre Road and Ward’s Road; towards the south-west by Section 23, Block XVII aforesaid, and a right line across Port’s Water-race Reserve; and towards the north-west and north by permanent State forest (Gazette, 1942, page 2168).
As the same are more particularly delineated on plan No. 210/19, deposited in the Head Office of the State Forest Service at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, and issued under the Seal of that Dominion, this 7th day of September, 1943.

Consenting to the Raising of a Loan of £967 10s. by the Pohangina County Council and prescribing the Conditions thereof

At the Government House at Wellington, this 31st day of August, 1943
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL
WHEREAS the Pohangina County Council (hereinafter called “the said local authority”) proposes, pursuant to the provisions of section three of the Main Highways Amendment Act, 1928, to borrow the sum of nine hundred and sixty-seven pounds ten shillings (£967 10s.), by a loan to be known as “Main Highways Loan, 1943” (hereinafter called “the said loan”), for the purpose of paying its portion of the cost of reconstructing Whitehead’s Bridge on the Pohangina Valley-Apiti Main Highway:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, and in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred on him by section eleven of the Local Government Loans Board Act, 1926, as set out in section twenty-nine of the Finance Act, 1932 (No. 2), and of all other powers and authorities enabling him in this behalf, doth hereby consent to the raising by the said local authority of the said loan for the said purpose up to the amount of nine hundred and sixty-seven pounds ten shillings (£967 10s.), and in giving such consent doth hereby determine as follows:—
(1) The term for which the said loan or any part thereof may be raised shall be five (5) years.
(2) The rate of interest that may be paid in respect of the said loan or any part thereof shall be such as shall not produce to the lender or lenders a rate exceeding three pounds fifteen shillings (£3 15s.) per centum per annum.
(3) The said loan, together with interest thereon, shall be repaid by equal aggregate annual instalments extending over the term as determined in (1) above.
(4) No moneys shall be borrowed under this consent after the expiration of two years from the date hereof.

WHEREAS the Auckland City Council (hereinafter called “the said local authority”) proposes, pursuant to the terms of a requisition issued under section twenty-two of the Health Act, 1920, to raise a loan of five hundred and forty thousand pounds (£540,000), to be known as “Waterworks Extension Loan, 1943” (hereinafter called “the said loan”), for the purpose of providing waterworks to increase the supply of water available to the City Council:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, and in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred on him by section eleven of the Local Government Loans Board Act, 1926, as set out in section twenty-nine of the Finance Act, 1932 (No. 2), and of all other powers and authorities enabling him in this behalf, doth hereby consent to the raising in New Zealand by the said local
