Appointments in the Public Service
Office of the Public Service Commissioner,

THE Public Service Commissioner has made the following
appointments in the Public Service:
Hugh Ronald McStay
to be an Inspector of Machinery for the purposes of the Inspection
of Machinery Act, 1928, and a Surveyor of Ships for the purposes
of the Shipping and Seamen Act, 1908, on and from the 9th day of
August, 1943.
David O'Donoghue
to be District Public Trustee for the District of Wanganui for the
purposes of the Public Trust Office Amendment Act, 1921-22, on
and from the lst day of September, 1943.
Andrew Saba
to be Registrar of Marriages and of Births and Deaths for the District
of Putaruru, on and from the 18th day of August, 1943, and Registrar
of Births and Deaths of Maoris at Putaruru, on and from the 18th
day of August, 1943.
Nelson Alexander Egginton
to be Registrar of Births and Deaths for the District of Devonport,
on and from the 18th day of August, 1943.
Justin Walsh
to be Deputy Registrar of Births and Deaths of Maoris at Morrins-
ville, on and from the 20th day of August, 1943.
Kenneth Desmond Kelly
to be Deputy Registrar of Births and Deaths of Maoris at Raglan,
on and from the 24th day of August, 1943.

The Overtime and Holidays Labour Legislation Suspension Order 1941,
Variation No. 25
IN pursuance of the Labour Legislation Emergency Regulations
1940, the Minister of Labour doth hereby order as follows :-

This Order may be cited as the Overtime and Holidays
Labour Legislation Suspension Order 1941, Variation No. 25. -
This Order shall be read together with and deemed part of
the Overtime and Holidays Labour Legislation Suspension Order
1941 (hereinafter referred to as "the principal Order"). -
The principal Order is varied as follows, namely : The
provisions of the principal Order shall not apply to the workers
coming within the scope of the awards specified in the following
Schedule, namely:-

Notice of Intention to take Land for Public Works
NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1928. to take the land described
in the First and Second Schedules hereto for public works : And notice is hereby further given that the respective plans
of the land required to be taken are deposited in the post-offices as set out in such Schedules; and that all persons affected by
the taking of the said land should, if they have any well-grounded objections to the taking of such lands, set forth the same in
writing, and send such writing, within forty days from the l3th day of September, 1943, to the Minister of Works at Wellington.

Administration of Noxious Weeds Act, 1928, in the Murchison County.-(Notice No. Ag. 4030)

THE following resolution passed by the Murchison County
Council on the 19th day of August, 1943, is published in
accordance with the provisions of section 7 (2) of the Noxious Weeds
Amendment Act, 1934.
RESOLUTION
"That the Murchison County Council assume responsibility
for the administration of the Noxious Weeds Act, 1928, within the
County of Murchison from the 1st day of October, 1943."

Council on the 17th day of December, 1942, is published in
accordance with the provisions of the Noxious Weeds Act, 1928.
SPECIAL ORDER
"That, in exercise of the powers conferred on it by the Noxious
Weeds Act, 1928, the Murchison County Council hereby resolved and
declared by way of a special order that the plants mentioned in the
Schedule hereby are noxious weeds within the County of Murchison.
