NOTICE is hereby given that the liquidator of W. Marr, Limited, which is being wound up voluntarily, doth hereby fix the 12th day of March, 1943, as the date on or before which the creditors of the company are to prove their debts or claims and to establish any title they may have to priority under section 258 of the Act, or to be excluded from the benefit of any distribution made before such debts are proved, or, as the case may be, from objecting to such distribution. All claims admitted will duly be paid in full.

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND FOR THE PURPOSES OF A QUARRY.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Manukau County Council proposes, under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1928, and its amendments, to execute a public work—namely, the establishment and operation of a quarry—and for the purposes of such public work the lands described in the Schedule hereto are required to be taken: And notice is hereby further given that a plan of the lands so required to be taken as aforesaid is deposited in the public office of the Clerk to the said Council at the Council Chambers, corner of Shortland Street and Princes Street in the City of Auckland, and is open for inspection without fee by all persons during office hours.
All persons affected by the execution of the said public works or by the taking of such lands who have any well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public works or to the taking of the said lands must state their objections in writing, and send the same, within forty (40) days from the first publication of this notice, to the Manukau County Council at its said office in the City of Auckland.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that piece of land containing 5 acres 1⅕ roods, more or less, being part Karaka Taupo B No. 1b Block, situated in Block VI of the Wairoa Survey District; shown coloured yellow on the said plan.

GISBORNE BOROUGH COUNCIL.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.
———
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, the Gisborne Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:—
“That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £45,000, authorized to be raised by the Gisborne Borough Council under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of augmenting existing water-supply by acquisition of 1,000 acres of land for dam-site and catchment area, construction of access road, concrete dam, tunnel, and pipe-line from new dam at Mangapoike to existing intake at Waingake, installation of booster pump at Lytton Road to maintain pressure, and planting of catchment area, the said Gisborne Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of nine-sixteenths of a penny in the pound upon the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property of the Borough of Gisborne, comprising the whole of the Borough of Gisborne; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable yearly on the 1st day of August in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty years or until the loan is fully paid off.”
I hereby certify that the above is a true and correct extract from the minutes of a meeting of the Gisborne Borough Council held on the 9th day of February, 1943.
