Declaring the Number of Members and apportioning Representation
on the Nelson Catchment Board

ORDER IN COUNCIL
At the Government House at Wellington, this 11th day of August,
1943
Present:
His Excellency the Governor-General in Council
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by the Soil
Conservation and Rivers Control Act, 1941, and of every other
power in anyway enabling him in that behalf, His Excellency the
Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and
with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said
Dominion, doth hereby declare that the Nelson Catchment Board
shall consist of nine elective members and five non-elective members,
and that the number of such elective members to be representative
of each separate constituent district or combined district within
the catchment district on the said Board shall be the number specified
in the Schedule hereto opposite the name of that constituent district
or group of names of constituent districts comprising a combined
district; and doth further declare that the group of constituent
districts the names of which are bracketed together in the first
column of the Schedule hereto is hereby constituted a combined
district for the purposes of the said Act, and that the principal local
authority of such combined district shall be the local authority of
the constituent district distinguished in the first column of the
Schedule hereto by the letter "(P)."

Foreshore License.-Te Kao.-Trustees

ORDER IN COUNCIL
At the Government House at Wellington, this 4th day of August,
1943
Present:
His Excellency the Governor-General in Council
PURSUANT to the Harbours Act, 1923, His Excellency the
Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent
of the Executive Council, doth hereby license and permit Huria
Henare, Rapata Hoterene, William Leonard Keene, Rata Marupaenga,
Archibald Hume Watt, as trustees for the inhabitants of the district (hereinafter called "the trustees," which term shall include
their executors, administrators, or assigns, unless the context
requires a different construction), to use and occupy a part of the
foreshore at Te Kao, Parengarenga Harbour, as shown on approved
plan marked M.D. 8143 and deposited in the office of the Marine
Department at Wellington, for the purpose of maintaining thereon
a wharf and shed as shown on the said plan, such license to be held
and enjoyed by the trustees upon and subject to the terms and
conditions set forth in the First Schedule hereto, and doth hereby
prescribe that the dues and rates set forth in the Second Schedule
hereto shall be charged and taken by the trustees for the use of
the said wharf.
FIRST SCHEDULE
CONDITIONS
- THIS license is subject to the Foreshore License Regulations
1940, and the provisions of those regulations shall, so far as applicable, apply hereto. - The term of the license shall be fourteen years from the
date hereof. - The annual sum payable by the trustees shall be 1s., payable
on demand. - The master of every vessel discharging ballast at the said
wharf shall have all such ballast taken away and deposited above
high-water mark, or at such place as may be approved of by the
Minister, or by any person appointed by the Minister for that purpose.
SECOND SCHEDULE
Dues
Berthage
THE master of every vessel shall pay, on the gross tonnage of such
vessel, a sum of 1d. per ton per day for each day or part of a day
a vessel shall occupy a berth at the said wharf, or alongside any
vessel lying at the said wharf, or shall lie at the said wharf undergoing repairs or fitting-out only, or shall lie off the said wharf with
a line attached thereto.
Goods Wharfage
Every person who shall use the said wharf for landing on or
shipping therefrom any goods shall pay dues to the trustees as
follows, that is to say:-
Cattle or horses, per head each .. .. .. 2 6

Sheep or small cattle, per head each .. .. .. 0 3
All other goods, per ton weight or measurement, at the

ORDER IN COUNCIL
At the Government House at Wellington, this 4th day of August,
1943

His Excellency the Governor-General in Council
WHEREAS by Order in Council dated the seventeenth day of
April, one thousand nine hundred and forty, and published
in the Gazette of the twenty-fourth day of the same month at page 764,
John Edmond, Limited, was licensed to use and occupy a part of
the foreshore and land below low-water mark at Kaipipi Bay,
Stewart Island, as a site for a quay and slipway for a term of fourteen
years:
And whereas the licensee has applied to have the hereinbefore-recited Order in Council revoked, and it is desirable to revoke
the same:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the
Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the power
and authority conferred upon him by the Harbours Act, 1923, and
of all other powers and authorities enabling him in that behalf,
and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive
Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby revoke the hereinbefore-recited Order in Council of the seventeenth day of April, one
thousand nine hundred and forty, as from the first day of April,
one thousand nine hundred and forty-three.
