The Wellington Metal Trades (National Cash Register Company (New Zealand), Limited) Labour Legislation Modification Order 1943

IN pursuance of the Labour Legislation Emergency Regulations 1940, the Minister of Labour doth hereby order as follows:—

  1. This Order may be cited as the Wellington Metal Trades (National Cash Register Company (New Zealand), Limited) Labour Legislation Modification Order 1943.
  2. This Order applies to the National Cash Register Company (New Zealand), Limited.
  3. The provisions of the New Zealand Metal Trades Employees’ award dated the 30th day of June, 1941, and recorded in 41 Book of Awards 655, are modified to enable the said company to employ female workers in its Service Division in the Wellington Industrial District at a minimum rate of wages of £3 15s. a week during the first three months of employment and thereafter at a minimum rate of wages of £4 per week, but such modification shall be subject to the following conditions:—
    (1) Such workers shall not be employed on repair work;
    (2) Not less than two female workers shall be employed at any time in any branch of the Service Division.
  4. This Order shall come into effect on the day of the date hereof.

Industrial Man-power Emergency Regulations 1942.—Amendment to Declaration of Essential Undertakings No. 88

IN pursuance of the powers conferred upon him by Regulation 11 of the Industrial Man-power Emergency Regulations 1942, the Minister of Industrial Man-power doth hereby amend Declaration of Essential Undertakings No. 88 by inserting after the word “wharfingers” the words “or on ship-repair work.”

Industrial Man-power Emergency Regulations 1942.—Amendment to Declaration of Essential Undertakings No. 134

IN pursuance of the powers conferred upon him by Regulation 11 of the Industrial Man-power Emergency Regulations 1942, the Minister of Industrial Man-power doth hereby amend the Declaration of Essential Undertakings No. 134 by including therein the undertaking set forth hereunder:—
Wairere River Bridge construction work on the Taheke–Horeke Road, Whangarei District.

Exemption Order under the Transport Legislation Emergency Regulations 1940

PURSUANT to the Transport Legislation Emergency Regulations 1940, the Minister of Transport doth hereby order and declare that the provisions of clause (1) of Regulation 7 of the Motor-drivers Regulations 1940, so far as they relate to drivers of heavy trade-motors, shall not apply to John Grey McDavitt, of Rahotu, Taranaki.

Approval of Testing Officers under the Motor-drivers Regulations 1940

IN terms of Regulations 5 of the Motor-drivers Regulations 1940, the Minister of Transport does hereby approve, until further notice, of the persons named in column 2 of the Schedule hereunder being Testing Officers under the said regulations for the authority specified in column 1 of the said Schedule.

The Nelson and Area Groceries Delivery Notice 1943

PURSUANT to Regulation 4 of the Delivery Emergency Regulations 1942, the Minister of Transport doth hereby give notice as follows:—

  1. This notice may be cited as the Nelson and Area Groceries Delivery Notice 1943.
  2. This notice shall come into force on the seventh day after the date of publication thereof in the Gazette.
  3. The scheme set out in the Schedule hereto is hereby provided for the district described in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE

THE NELSON AND AREA GROCERIES DELIVERY SCHEME, 1943

(1) FOR the purposes of this scheme, unless the context otherwise requires,—
“ The district ” means the City of Nelson and the Town District of Tahunanui:
The “ Milk Scheme ” means the Nelson Milk Delivery Scheme, 1942, as published in the New Zealand Gazette of the 1st October, 1942, at page 2436.

(2) For the purpose of assisting in the administration of this scheme there shall be a committee, which shall consist of the following members:—
(a) The two members appointed under paragraphs (a) and (b) of clause (2) of the Milk Scheme:
(b) One member to be appointed by the Nelson District Master Grocers’ Association:
(c) The District Oil Fuel Controller, Nelson.

(3) On the death or resignation of any member of the committee, the vacancy created thereby shall be filled by appointment in the manner in which the vacating member was appointed.

(4) The functions of the committee shall be to receive and investigate complaints affecting the administration of the scheme, to advise the Minister on any matters that may be referred to the committee by the Minister or that may be considered by it of its own motion, and to make recommendations to the Minister for amending this scheme.

(5) Subject to the foregoing provisions of this scheme the committee may regulate its procedure in such manner as it thinks fit.

(6) It shall be a condition of this scheme that subject to the provisions of the next succeeding clause, groceries shall not be delivered to any household or person otherwise than on the day allotted for delivery to the respective zone as those days and zones are described hereunder:—

Delivery Day. Zone No. Description of Zone.
Monday 4 Nelson South and Wakatu Area: All that portion of the city south of Hampden and Alfred Streets (but not inclusive), and bounded on the west by Emano Street (but not inclusive); also Wakatu and Enner Glen area via Bishopdale to Arapiki (or Lucas’s Road). All the east side of the Tahunanui–Stoke main road from the overhead railway bridge at Annesbrook to Arapiki Road, inclusive, and including the road through Enner Glen.
Tuesday 2 Wood Area: All that portion of the city on the east and seaward side of the Maitai River and including Mill Street, and that portion of Nile Street East on the west bank and that portion of the Wakapuaka district extending from the city boundary to the Monument.
Wednesday 3 Waimea Area: All that portion of the city having for its eastern boundary Trafalgar Street, inclusive, as far as the Maitai River; southern boundary Hampden and Alfred Streets and Emano Street, inclusive; western boundary Toi Toi Valley and St. Vincent Street and including road round Pioneer Park; thence to Salt Water Bridge to the river along Paru Paru Road.
Thursday 5 Port and Tahunanui Area: All that portion of the city being the balance of all the western part from Salt Water Bridge, including Washington Valley west of Pioneer Park, Britannia Heights, Haven and Rocks Road area, all of Tahunanui Town district to the overhead bridge at Annesbrook. Southern Boundary: North side of railway-line to junction of the line with Quarantine Road, and Quarantine Road, aerodrome, and golf link areas, but not including that portion of Quarantine Road from the Main Stoke Road to and including the residences west of Nayland Road.
Friday 1 Brook Area: All that portion of the city on the south side of the Maitai River from (but not including) Trafalgar Street, to and including Cleveland Road, Brook Street, the south boundary being Brougham Street to intersection with Trafalgar Street.
