Trustees of Greendale Cemetery appointed

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by section fifty-five of the Cemeteries Act, 1908, I, Cyril Louis Norton Newall, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby appoint

The Malvern County Council

to be the trustees of the Greendale Cemetery, as described in the Schedule hereto, and to have the control and management of the said cemetery.

Reserve 1561, Block XIV, Hawkins Survey District: Area, 5 acres, more or less.

Extending the Period within which the Milk-supply Commission shall report

To all to whom these presents shall come, and to WILLIAM ROBERT TUCK, Esquire, of Auckland, Barrister and Solicitor, GEORGE WILLIAM DELL, Esquire, of Christchurch, Secretary, and ARTHUR HUGH WARD, Esquire, of Wellington, Dairy Economist: GREETING.

WHEREAS by Warrant dated the 10th day of March, 1943, and issued with the advice and consent of the Executive Council under my hand and the Seal of the Dominion, you, the said William Robert Tuck, George William Dell, and Arthur Hugh Ward were appointed to be a Commission to inquire into and report upon the then present circumstances of the supply of milk to the four metropolitan areas of Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch, and Dunedin, and to such other areas as might be directed from time to time by the Minister of Agriculture and upon other specified matters:

And whereas by the said Warrant you were required to report to me not later than the 30th day of June, 1943, your opinion as to the matters therein specified:

And whereas by Warrant dated the 30th day of June, 1943, the time for so reporting was extended to the 31st day of July, 1943:

And whereas no report was furnished within the time specified as aforesaid:

And whereas it is expedient that the Commission should continue in force with an extension of the time for reporting your opinion as to the matters thereby referred to you:

Now, therefore, I Cyril Louis Norton Newall, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in exercise of the powers conferred by the Commissions of Inquiry Act, 1908, as extended by the Commissions of Inquiry Emergency Regulations 1941, and all other powers and authorities enabling me in this behalf, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, do hereby reappoint you, the said William Robert Tuck, George William Dell, and Arthur Hugh Ward, to be a Commission under the Commissions of Inquiry Act, 1908, as extended by the Commissions of Inquiry Emergency Regulations 1941, for the purposes set out in the said Warrant of the date 10th day of March, 1943, with the powers and authorities and subject to the directions set out in the said Warrant save as modified by the said Warrant of the 30th day of June, 1943, and by these presents:

And, in pursuance of the powers and authorities aforesaid and with the like advice and consent, I do hereby reappoint you, the said William Robert Tuck, to be the Chairman of the said Commission:

And using all diligence you are required to report to me under your hands and seals not later than the 16th day of August, 1943, your opinion as to the aforesaid matters:

And, in further pursuance of the said powers and authorities and with the like advice and consent, I do hereby confirm, republish, and re-enact the said respective Warrants and reconstitute the Commission thereby constituted except as altered by these presents.

Given under the hand of His Excellency Marshal of the Royal Air Force Cyril Louis Norton Newall, Knight Grand Cross of the Order of Merit, Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire on whom has been conferred the Albert Medal of the First Class, Governor-General and Commander-in-Chief in and over His Majesty's Dominion of New Zealand and its Dependencies, and issued under the Seal of the said Dominion, this 4th day of August, 1943.

Appointments in the Royal New Zealand Navy

HIS Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to approve of the following appointments, terminations of appointments, and promotions in the Royal New Zealand Navy:—

Captain William Keith Dene Dowding, D.S.C., R.N., lent Royal New Zealand Navy (date to be reported), and appointed H.M.N.Z. ship as directed as Naval Officer in Charge, Auckland District, vice Rotherham, to date 21st June, 1943 (to serve in the rank of Commodore, Second Class).

Commander Alexander David Boyle, R.N. (Retired), appointed H.M.N.Z. ship as directed as Naval Officer in Charge, Wellington, vice Jeffreys, to date 7th July, 1943 (granted the acting rank of Captain whilst holding this appointment).

Temporary Acting Commander Thomas Sandford Critchley, appointed H.M.N.Z. ship as directed as Naval Officer in Charge, Lyttelton, vice Boyle, to date 19th June, 1943 (to continue to serve in the acting rank of Temporary Commander whilst holding this appointment).

Lieutenant (E) David Philip Windibank, R.N., lent Royal New Zealand Navy, and appointed H.M.N.Z. ship as directed, to date 14th June, 1943.

Mr. Lancelot Rose Hickman Russell, Temporary Acting Gunner (T), confirmed in rank with original seniority of 7th May, 1942.

Mr. Leslie Samuel George Martin, Temporary Acting Warrant Engineer, confirmed in rank with original seniority of 28th May, 1942.

Chief Petty Officer Telegraphist Stanley Thomas Davies, N.Z. 876, promoted to the rank of Temporary Acting Warrant Telegraphist and appointed H.M.N.Z. ship as directed, to date 30th June, 1943.

Acting Petty Officer James Bradley Myles, N.Z. 1118, promoted to the rank of Acting Boatswain, to date 17th June, 1943.
