RESOLUTION.
THE following regulations were laid before the members of the Bay of Plenty Racing Club (Inc.) at a meeting held on the 22nd January, 1943, at 8 p.m., with a recommendation by the Chairman of such club, Mr. W. Tanner, that the same be passed at once with a view to their approval by His Excellency the Governor-General in pursuance of the Gaming Act, 1908, section 33.
Mr. W. Tanner, the Chairman of such club and the meeting, moved, and Mr. J. A. Guinness seconded, and it was resolved, that such regulations should be adopted and that the Chairman and Secretary be authorized to sign the same in authentication thereof.
The following are the regulations referred to:—
THE BAY OF PLENTY RACING CLUB (INC.).
REGULATIONS.
(Under the Gaming Act, 1908.)
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers in that behalf contained in section 33 of the Gaming Act, 1908, and of all other powers and authorities it enabling in that behalf, the Bay of Plenty Racing Club (Inc.), a racing club within the meaning of the said Act (hereinafter referred to as "the said Club"), doth hereby make the following regulations controlling the admission of persons to the Paeroa Racecourse, situated in the district of Ohinemuri and known as the Paeroa Racecourse, while the said racecourse is used or occupied by the said club for race meetings.

These regulations shall come into force on the date of the same being published in the New Zealand Gazette.

In these regulations the words "bookmaker," "racing club," and "race meeting" shall have the meanings ascribed to those terms respectively by section 2 of the Gaming Act, 1908.

The following persons shall be and are hereby excluded from the racecourse above described while the same is used or occupied by the said club for a race meeting, namely:—
(a) Bookmakers:
(b) Bookmakers' clerks, bookmakers' assistants, and bookmakers' agents:
(c) All persons under disqualification inflicted by any racing or trotting club in the Dominion of New Zealand, the Commonwealth of Australia, or elsewhere if affiliated to the New Zealand Racing Conference, or the New Zealand Trotting Conference, or the New Zealand Trotting Association:
(d) Common prostitutes and persons who habitually consort with thieves or persons who have no lawful visible means of support:
(e) Professional tipsters, persons convicted of house-breaking or pocket-picking, forgery, uttering, or possessing counterfeit coin, theft, false pretences, receiving stolen goods, mischief, assault, or any offence or crime of any kind under the Crimes Act, 1908, and also idle and disorderly persons, rogues, and vagabonds, and incorrigible rogues convicted under the Police Offences Act, 1908, and persons convicted of an offence under the Gaming Act, 1908:
Provided always that the Executive Committee appointed by the New Zealand Racing Conference, upon being satisfied by evidence as to character and otherwise that any person who, by reason of any conviction, comes within the scope of this regulation, should have relief from the effect thereof, may grant exemption to any such person, and may at any time revoke any such exemption without notice to such person, and without assigning any reason for such revocation.
The foregoing regulations of the Bay of Plenty Racing Club (Inc.) were made and passed by such club on the 22nd day of January, 1943, and signed by the Chairman and Secretary.

NOTICE OF DISSOLUTION OF PARTNERSHIP.
NOTICE is hereby given that the partnership heretofore subsisting between Leslie Rothwell and Rowland Simpson, carrying on business as butchers at Blenheim under the style or firm of "Rothwell and Simpson," has been dissolved by mutual consent as from the 31st day of January, 1943.

DISSOLUTION OF PARTNERSHIP.
NOTICE is hereby given that Mr. Archibald Lawrenson Martin has retired from the Firm of Messrs. Carlile, McLean, Scannell, and Wood, Solicitors, at Napier and Hastings, as from 31st January, 1943. The practice will be continued under the same style by the other partners.

MANAWATU COUNTY COUNCIL.
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.
THAT, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1926, and the Rural Housing Act, 1939, and its amendments, the Manawatu County Council hereby resolves as follows:—
"That, for the purpose of providing interest and other charges on a loan of ten thousand pounds (£10,000), authorized to be raised by the Manawatu County Council under the above-mentioned Acts, for the purpose of making advances to farmers for the erection of dwellings within the County of Manawatu under the Rural Housing Act, 1939, the said Manawatu County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one-fifteenth of a penny (1/15d.) in the pound upon the rateable value (being the unimproved value) of all rateable property in the County of Manawatu; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable half-yearly on the 1st day of August and the 1st day of February in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty-five (25) years or until the loan is fully paid off."
I hereby certify that the above resolution was passed at a properly constituted meeting of the Manawatu County Council held on the 10th day of December, 1940, and confirmed at a subsequent meeting of the said Council held on the 11th day of February, 1941.
