WHEREAS by the three-hundred-and-fifty-ninth section of the Land Act, 1924, it is enacted that the Governor-General may from time to time set apart temporarily as reserves, notwithstanding that the same may be then held under pastoral license, any Crown lands which in his opinion are required for any of the purposes in the said section mentioned:
Now, therefore, I, Cyril Louis Norton Newall, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the said Act, do hereby temporarily reserve the lands in the North Auckland, Auckland, Wellington, and Marlborough Land Districts described in the Schedule hereunder written for the purposes specified at the end of the respective descriptions of the lands so intended to be temporarily reserved.

SCHEDULE.
NORTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.
All that area in the Hokianga County, situated in Blocks III and IV, Mangamuka Survey District, containing by admeasurement 204 acres and 30 perches, more or less, being part of Ahutoaota Block, shown on plan numbered 25820, deposited in the office of the District Land Registrar at Auckland, and being the whole of the land comprised and described in Certificate of Title, Volume 696, folio 320, Auckland Registry. As the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 36/28, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon edged red. (Water-conservation.)
Section 14, Block V, Hohura East Survey District: Area, 2 acres, more or less. (Native-school site, Ngataki.)
AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.
Section 130, Block IX, Aroha Survey District: Area, 96 acres 2 roods 18 perches, more or less. (Recreation.)
WELLINGTON LAND DISTRICT.
Section 8, Block I, Mangaone Village, situated in Block III, Mangaone Survey District: Area, 2 acres, more or less. (Recreation.)
MARLBOROUGH LAND DISTRICT.

Vesting the Control of Lake Okataina Scenic Reserves in a Board of Control.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by subsection one of section seventeen of the Native Purposes Act, 1931, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand doth hereby vest the control of the reserves described in the Schedule hereto in a Board of Control to be called the Lake Okataina Scenic Board, to hold the same in trust for the preservation of scenery, and doth hereby appoint the under-mentioned persons, namely:—
Hemana Te Pohika,
Kramtha Neke,
Te Wharokanuwha Mika,
Topia Rotokiko,
Kepa Ehau,
Henry Taiperutu Mitchell, and
the Commissioner of Crown Lands, Auckland, ex officio,
to be members of the said Lake Okataina Scenic Board; and doth hereby declare that each member shall hold office for a period of five years from the date hereof, unless this Warrant shall be previously altered or revoked, or unless he shall cease to be a member under the provisions of regulations to be made for the practice and procedure of the Board.

Vesting the Control of a Scenic Reserve in the Wanganui City Council.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by section thirteen of the Scenery Preservation Act, 1908 (hereinafter referred to as “the said Act”), His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand doth hereby vest the control of the scenic reserve described in the Schedule hereto (being land reserved under the said Act) in the Wanganui City Council, subject to the conditions hereinafter contained, that is to say:

The period for which the control of the reserve is hereby vested shall be five years from the date hereof, unless the reservation is previously altered or revoked under the said Act.

The said Council shall prepare a report each year ending on the thirty-first day of March, together with a statement of receipts and expenditure, in connection with the said reserve.
Such report and statement shall be sent to the Minister charged with the administration of the said Act as soon as possible after the close of the year.
- The said Council shall control the said reserve in accordance with the provisions of the said Act and of the regulations made thereunder.

GORDON PARK SCENIC RESERVE.—WELLINGTON LAND DISTRICT.
All that area containing 40 acres, more or less, being part Sections 82 and 83, left bank of the Wanganui River, Block II, Ikitara Survey District, and being all the land comprised in Certificate of Title, Volume 372, folio 2, Wellington Registry.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this 8th day of February, 1943.
