The Steel Returns Control Notice 1943

PURSUANT to the Supply Control Emergency Regulations 1939, the Minister of Supply and Munitions hereby directs and gives notice as follows :—

  1. This notice may be cited as the Steel Returns Control Notice 1943.

  2. This notice shall come into force on the day next following the date of publication hereof in the Gazette.

  3. Within fourteen days after the coming into force of this notice every person who on the 30th day of June, 1943, owned or had in his possession or control any steel in semi-finished forms or in the forms of structural shapes or piling, plates, rails, or track accessories, hot-rolled or cold-finished bars (including flats and squares), pipe, tubing, wire, wire ropes, wire netting, or other wire products, tinplate, terne plate, tin mill black plate, sheets or strip, wheels or axles, or steel castings shall, if there was 1 cwt. or more of stainless or alloy steel or 1 ton or more of other steel, furnish to the Ministry of Supply (Steel Control), Government Life Insurance Building, Wellington, particulars of such steel, together with particulars of receipts and of sales and usage during the three months prior to the said date, in conformity with the form provided for the purpose and obtainable as mentioned in clause 5 hereof.

  4. The returns must be certified as being complete by the owner or person in whose possession or control the steel was on the date mentioned in clause 3 hereof, and all steel owned, possessed, or controlled (except steel on which processing or assembly has been commenced) must be included in the return notwithstanding that any such steel may be reserved for any special works or contracts.

  5. The necessary forms for the return may be obtained from the undermentioned :—

Arbor Day, 1943

Department of Internal Affairs,
Wellington, 1st July, 1943.

IT is hereby notified that Wednesday, 4th August, 1943, is to be observed as Arbor Day, and, in view of the national importance of tree-planting, local bodies throughout New Zealand are requested to organize suitable celebrations on that date.

Where on account of local climatic conditions in any district the 4th August is deemed unsuitable, the local bodies affected are invited to observe some other suitable day in that month.

Transmitting and Receiving Officers for the Service of Notices by Telegraph

IN pursuance of the powers conferred upon me by the Post and Telegraph Act, 1928 (hereinafter termed “ the said Act ”), and by the regulations made on the 12th May, 1914, and published in the New Zealand Gazette of the 21st May, 1914, the following officers, at the addresses set against their names, are hereby appointed transmitting and receiving officers for the purpose of dealing with all notices by telegraph sent under the said Act or regulations, and of signing such certificates in relation to the service of any such notices as are required or authorized to be signed or given under the said Act or the regulations aforesaid :—

The Cambridge Milk Delivery Notice 1943

PURSUANT to Regulation 4 of the Delivery Emergency Regulations 1942, the Minister of Transport doth hereby give notice as follows :—

  1. This notice may be cited as the Cambridge Milk Delivery Notice 1943.

  2. This notice shall come into force on the Monday following the publication thereof in the Gazette.

  3. The scheme set out in the Schedule hereto is hereby provided for the said district.


SCHEDULE

THE CAMBRIDGE MILK DELIVERY SCHEME, 1943

(1) For the purposes of this scheme, unless the context otherwise requires,—

“ The district ” means the Borough of Cambridge and the Leamington Town District :

“ The plan ” means the plan of the district deposited for the purpose of the scheme in the Head Office of the Transport Department at Wellington under No. TT. 3403 :

“ Minister ” means the Minister of Transport :

“ Zone ” means a zone of the district marked on the said plan :

“ Milk ” includes cream.

(2) For the purposes of assisting in the administration of this scheme there shall be a committee, which shall consist of the following members :—

(a) Two members to be appointed by the Cambridge Borough Council :

(b) One member to be appointed by the parties to the scheme :

(c) The Zoning Officer for North Island.

(3) On the death or resignation of any member of the committee, the vacancy created thereby shall be filled by appointment in the manner in which the vacating member was appointed.

(4) The functions of the committee shall be to receive and investigate complaints affecting the administration of this scheme, to advise the Minister on any matters that may be referred to the committee by the Minister or that may be considered by it of its own motion, and to make recommendations to the Minister for amending this scheme.

(5) Subject to the foregoing provisions of this scheme, the committee may regulate its procedure in such manner as it thinks fit.

(6) The names of the vendors who are parties to this scheme and the areas in which they may deliver milk are as follows :—
