  1. DURATION OF LICENSE

This license shall continue in force until the 31st day of March, 1964, or until electrical energy is available from an Electric-power Board or other public source of supply, whichever is the earlier.

  1. SYSTEM OF SUPPLY

The system of supply shall be as described in paragraph (d) of clause 21–01 of the Electrical Supply Regulations 1935. The generating voltage and the transmission voltage shall be approximately 230 volts direct current.

  1. RENTAL

For the purpose of assessing the rental or annual sum payable in respect of this license, the licensees may install a suitable maximum-demand indicator to the satisfaction of the Inspecting Engineer of the Public Works Department, and, failing such installation, the rental shall be determined on the maximum capacity of the generating plant installed. The present plant is rated at 1 kilowatt.

Regulations under the Naval Defence Act, 1913, amended

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred on him by section twenty-five of the Naval Defence Act, 1913, and of all other powers and authorities enabling him in that behalf, His Excellency the Governor-General, with the advice of the Executive Council, doth hereby amend and supplement the regulations referred to in the Schedule hereto as shown therein.

SCHEDULE

Regulations for the Government and Payment of the Royal New Zealand Navy, 1939

ARTICLE 132, paragraphs 1 and 3: Cancel and substitute (with effect from 1st November, 1942):

“132. Marriage-allowance.—On production to the Commanding Officer of satisfactory evidence of marriage, marriage-allowance shall be payable to ratings at the rate of £1 per week (3s. per diem for broken periods), with the addition of 5s. per week (9d. per diem for broken periods), for each child, irrespective of the number of children.
“3. Marriage-allowance shall be payable to widowers with children at the rate of 15s. per week (2s. 3d. per diem for broken periods), for the first child under the age of sixteen years, with the addition of 5s. per week (9d. per diem for broken periods), in respect of every other child under the age of sixteen years, irrespective of the number of children, subject to an allotment being declared in favour of a guardian of one-quarter of active pay (computed as in 2 (a)), plus the full amount of marriage-allowance. Subject to investigation in each case, the Naval Board may also approve of payment of marriage-allowance at the same rate in cases where, owing to illness, misconduct, or desertion on the part of the wife, the children are placed under the care of a suitable guardian.”

WHEREAS by subsection two of section eighteen of the Public Service Act, 1912, it is enacted that the Commissioner may, whenever it appears advantageous to the Public Service so to do, certify to the Governor-General that it is expedient to add any office to or to abolish any office from the Administrative

Division of the Public Service of New Zealand; and the Governor-General in Council may, upon such certificate, add any office to the Administrative Division or abolish any office therein:

And whereas the Public Service Commissioner has certified to the Governor-General that it is expedient to add the office of Secretary of External Affairs to the said Administrative Division:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred on him by the said section and of all other powers enabling him in this behalf, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby add the office of Secretary of External Affairs to the said Administrative Division.

Member appointed to Lower Shotover Public Hall Board

WHEREAS by an Order in Council dated the nineteenth day of March, one thousand nine hundred and forty-one, and published in the Gazette of the twentieth day of that month, the control of Section 1424R, Block III, Shotover Survey District, in the Otago Land District, a reserve for a site for a public hall, was vested in certain persons therein named, who were by the said Order in Council constituted a special Board, by the name of the Lower Shotover Public Hall Board, in pursuance of section seventeen of the Public Reserves, Domains, and National Parks Act, 1928:

And whereas it is desirable that Ian Wilson Brown, of Lower Shotover, should be appointed a member of the said Board in place of John Stewart Gray, resigned.

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, and in pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred on him by section seventeen of the Public Reserves, Domains, and National Parks Act, 1928, doth hereby appoint the said

Ian Wilson Brown

to be a member of the Lower Shotover Public Hall Board, constituted by the Order in Council dated the nineteenth day of March, one thousand nine hundred and forty-one, hereinbefore referred to, in place of the said John Stewart Gray, resigned.
