The Potatoes (Transportation) Order 1943, No. 2

PURSUANT to powers conferred on the Primary Industries Controller by the Primary Industries Emergency Regulations 1939,* and duly delegated to me by the said Controller, pursuant to clause 5 of the said regulations, I, Ross Papprill Fraser, the Acting-Director of the Internal Marketing Division of the Marketing Department, do hereby order and direct as follows :—

  1. This Order may be cited as the Potatoes (Transportation) Order 1943, No. 2, and shall come into force on the 1st day of July, 1943.

APPLICATION OF THIS ORDER

  1. Nothing in this order shall apply with respect to—
    (a) Seed potatoes; or
    (b) Potatoes consigned through the Government Railways Department in lots not exceeding 2 cwt. in any case.

RESTRICTION ON CONSIGNMENT OF SOUTH ISLAND POTATOES TO PORT OF WELLINGTON

  1. (1) Except as provided in the last preceding clause, no potatoes grown in the South Island shall be consigned for delivery at the Port of Wellington except by a member of the New Zealand Grain, Seed, and Produce Merchants’ Federation (Incorporated).

    (2) It shall be the duty of every person by whom any potatoes are consigned as aforesaid to produce to the person accepting the consignment satisfactory evidence of his membership of the said Federation, and no person shall accept any such consignment unless he is satisfied that the consignor is a member of the said Federation.
