Clerks to whom shall be sent all statements of liquor sent or taken
into the Licensing Districts set out in the second column of the said
Schedule.

Notice of Intention to take Leasehold Estates or Interests in Land for
Public Works
NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions
of the Public Works Act, 1928, to take the leasehold estates
or interests in the land described in the Schedule hereto, held from
the Mayor, Councillors, and Burgesses of the Borough of Hamilton
as to the land firstly described in such Schedule by George Alexander
Baillie, of Frankton Junction, Labourer, under and by virtue of
Memorandum of Lease, Registered No. 11004 (Auckland Registry),
and as to the land secondly described in such Schedule by Hannah
Mackenzie, wife of Robert Mackenzie, of Hamilton, Labourer, under
and by virtue of Memorandum of Lease, Registered No. 11040
(Auckland Registry), for public works: And notice is hereby further
given that the plan of the land, in respect of which the leasehold
estates or interests are required to be taken, is deposited in the Post-
office at Hamilton, and that all persons affected by the taking of
the said leasehold estates or interests should, if they have any
well-grounded objections to the taking of such leasehold estates or
interests, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing,
within forty days from the 9th day of June, 1943, to the Minister
of Works at Wellington.

leasehold estates or interests are required to be taken:-

P.W.D. 115386/31726, deposited in the office of the Minister of
Works at Wellington, and thereon coloured as above mentioned.

Authority from the Minister of Finance to the Commissioner of Taxes
to collect Social Security Charge and National Security Tax on
Income derived by Native Authorities for the Benefit of Natives
-
PURSUANT to subsection (4) of section 118 of the Social Security
Act, 1938, and section 13 of the Finance Act (No. 2), 1942, I hereby
authorize the Commissioner of Taxes to collect social security
charge and national security tax upon income other than salary or
wages derived by a Native authority in trust for or on behalf of or
for the benefit of any Native or Natives as if such income were
salary or wages. -
This authority shall not apply to any income derived by a
Native farmer from land being farmed by such Native under a Native
land development scheme; or to any income derived by any
person as trustee of the estate of a deceased Native or as trustee
under a trust deed or document. -
In this authority the following definitions and rules of con-
struction shall apply:-
(a) "Native authority" means the Board of Native Affairs,
the Native Trustee, the East Coast Commissioner, a
Maori Land Board, a body corporate under Part XVII
of the Native Land Act, 1931, and any other body,
authority, or person administering or having control of
Native land or reserves or any other property or income
in trust for or on behalf of or for the benefit of Natives:
(b) Words importing the singular number include the plural
number and words importing the plural number include
the singular number:
(c) All words referring to persons include firms, companies,
and other bodies of persons corporate or unincorporate:
(d) The term "trustee" includes an executor or administrator.
- This authority replaces, as from the date hereof, the previous
authority dated 23rd June, 1939.
