Notice calling up Reservists for Service with the Armed Forces

National Service Department,
Wellington, 20th May, 1943.

IT is hereby notified for general information that, in pursuance of the powers vested in me by Regulation 44 of the National Service Emergency Regulations 1940, I have, on the 20th day of May, 1943, issued to—

James Linton Baillie, Engineer, 36 Byron Avenue, Takapuna, Auckland, Registration No. 638561,

Bernard Emerre, Motor-driver, 3 Prince Street, Wellington, Registration No. 641195, and

Louis Arnold West, Lamp-shade Maker, 26 Idris Road, Fendalton, Christchurch, Registration No. 639040,

notices calling them up for service with the Armed Forces, such persons having been severally convicted for that, being reservists belonging to a division of the Reserve the enrolment of which has been proclaimed, they did fail to make application in writing for enrolment in that class of the Reserve as required by Regulation 43 (1) of the National Service Emergency Regulations 1940.

Election of Producers' Representatives on the Nelson Raspberry Marketing Committee

PURSUANT to the Nelson Raspberry Marketing Regulations 1940, made under the Marketing Act, 1936, and the Agriculture (Emergency Powers) Act, 1934, notice is hereby given that a copy of the roll of producers in the Northern Ward qualified to vote, and a copy of the roll of producers in the Southern Ward qualified to vote at the elections to be held on the second Wednesday in the month of June, 1943, of producers' representatives on the Nelson Raspberry Marketing Committee established by the said regulations, have been deposited for public inspection during ordinary office hours, for a period of seven days from the 21st day of May, 1943, at the post-offices mentioned herewith :—

Nelson .. Both Northern and Southern Ward rolls. Wakefield .. Both Northern and Southern Ward rolls. Motueka .. Northern Ward roll only. Ngatimoti .. Northern Ward roll only. Tapawera .. Southern Ward roll only. Tadmor .. Southern Ward roll only.

Election of Member of Gisborne Land Board

HENRY LOFTUS PRIMROSE, Returning Officer for the election of a member of the Gisborne Land Board, in accordance with the provisions of section 47 of the Land Act, 1924, and the regulations made thereunder, do hereby declare that the only person nominated to fill the vacancy occurring on the said Board was

George Oswald Donovan, of Motu.

And I do hereby declare that the said George Oswald Donovan is duly elected a member of the Gisborne Land Board for a term of two years as from the 31st day of May, 1943.

Appointment of Deputy District Public Trustee

NOTICE is hereby given that, in pursuance of the power and authority vested in me by section 3 of the Public Trust Office Amendment Act, 1921–22, I, the Public Trustee of the Dominion of New Zealand, have appointed John Gordon McGhie, of the Public Trust Office, Wellington, to be deputy of the District Public Trustee, Wanganui, during the absence of such District Public Trustee from his headquarters from any cause, and all previous Warrants appointing any deputy of the said District Public Trustee have been revoked.
