Crown Land and Provisional State Forests set apart as a Permanent State Forest.

A PROCLAMATION.
BY virtue and in exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by section eighteen of the Forests Act, 1921–22, I, Cyril Louis Norton Newall, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby set apart the Crown land and provisional State forests described in the Schedule hereto as a permanent State forest.

SCHEDULE.
WELLINGTON LAND DISTRICT.—WELLINGTON CONSERVANCY.
ALL those areas in the Wellington Land District, Waimarino County, containing by admeasurement 8,620 acres 3 roods, more or less, and described as follows: All that area containing by admeasurement 4,200 acres, more or less, situated in Blocks XIV and XV, Ruapehu Survey District, and Blocks II, III, and VI, Karioi Survey District, and being part Rangataua North No. 1 and No. 3 Blocks, and part Waiakaki Block, being provisional State forest (Gazette, 1922, page 1511), and Crown land, and bounded generally as follows: Commencing at a point being the north-eastern corner of Rangataua North No. 1 2B 2B Block; thence towards the north-east and north-west and again towards the north-east by part Tongariro National Park; towards the south-east by permanent State forest (Gazette, 1900, page 103), provisional State forest (Gazette, 1922, page 1513), and the Waiakaki Stream; towards the south-west by the North Island Main Trunk Railway; towards the west by the Mangaehuehu Stream to the easternmost corner of Section 3, Block II, Karioi Survey District; towards the south by Section 3 aforesaid, the abutment of a public road and by the Mangateitei Road; towards the south-west by Section 8, Block I, Karioi Survey District, and towards the north-west by Section 11, Block I, Karioi Survey District—part Tongariro National Park and Rangataua North No. 1 2B 2A and 2B 2B Blocks.
Also all that area containing by admeasurement 4,180 acres, situated in Blocks II, III, VI, and VII, Karioi Survey District, and being part Rangiwaea No. 1 Block, being provisional State forest (Gazette, 1922, page 1513), and Crown land, and bounded generally as follows: Commencing at the south-eastern corner of the Waiakaki Block; thence towards the north-west by the Waiakaki Block; towards the north-east by permanent State forest (Gazette, 1900, page 103); towards the south-east by permanent State forest (Gazette, 1936, page 800), and towards the south-west by the North Island Main Trunk Railway.
Also all that area containing by admeasurement 240 acres 3 roods, more or less, being Section 3, Block VI, Karioi Survey District.
As the same is more particularly delineated on plan No. 71/24, deposited in the Head Office of the State Forest Service at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, and issued under the Seal of that Dominion, this 20th day of April, 1943.

Vesting the Control of a Scenic Reserve in the Collingwood County Council.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by section thirteen of the Scenery Preservation Act, 1908 (hereinafter referred to as “the said Act”), His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand doth hereby vest the control of the Kaihoka Lakes Scenic Reserve, described in the Schedule hereto (being land reserved under the said Act), in the Collingwood County Council, subject to the conditions hereinafter contained, that is to say:—

The period for which the control of the reserve is hereby vested shall be five years from the date hereof, unless the reservation is previously altered or revoked under the said Act.

The said Council shall prepare a report each year ending on the thirty-first day of March, together with a statement of receipts and expenditure in connection with the said reserve. Such report and statement shall be sent to the Minister charged with the administration of the said Act as soon as possible after the close of the year.

The said Council shall control the said reserve in accordance with the provisions of the said Act and of the regulations made thereunder.

SCHEDULE.
NELSON LAND DISTRICT.—KAIHOKA LAKES SCENIC RESERVE.
SECTION 3, Block I, Pakawau Survey District: Area, 56 acres 1 rood 16 perches, more or less.
Section 1, Block I, Pakawau Survey District: Area, 54 acres 0 roods 21 perches, more or less.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this 20th day of April, 1943.
