Price Order No. 132 (Raw Leaf Tobacco).
IN pursuance of the powers conferred upon the Price Tribunal by the Control of Prices Emergency Regulations 1939, and with the authority of the Minister of Industries and Commerce, the Price Tribunal hereby makes the following Price Order:

This Order may be cited as Price Order No. 132.

In this Order-
“Flue-cured leaf” means leaf which has been treated in a kiln for at least three successive days immediately after picking for the purpose of yellowing, fixing colour, drying, and drying mid-ribs:
“Air-dried leaf” means leaf other than flue-cured leaf. -
The price at which any tobacco-manufacturer shall purchase raw tobacco of the 1942-1943 crop shall average over the total purchases made by him—
(i) For flue-cured leaf, not less than ls. 10½d. per pound;
(ii) For air-dried leaf, not less than ls. 7½d. per pound. -
The average price so paid shall be calculated on the weight of the raw-leaf tobacco at the time and place of delivery by the grower to the manufacturer or his agent in the district in which it is grown.

Notwithstanding anything in the provisions of this Order, the Price Tribunal may in any case where it considers it proper so to do exempt from the operations of this Order any raw tobacco of the 1942-1943 crop.

This Order shall be read subject to the provisions of the Board of Trade (Raw Tobacco Price) Regulations 1943. Dated at Wellington, this 20th day of April, 1943.

NOTICE is hereby given that the lease of the undermentioned lands having been declared forfeit by resolution of the Auckland Land Board, the said lands have thereby reverted to the Crown under the provisions of the Land Act, 1924.

Settlement Land in Canterbury Land District for Selection on Renewable Lease.
District Lands and Survey Office, Christchurch, 20th April, 1943.
NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned property is open for selection on renewable lease under the Land Act, 1924, and the Land for Settlements Act, 1925; and applications will be received at the District Lands and Survey Office, Christchurch, up to 4 p.m. on Monday, 10th May, 1943.
Applicants should appear personally for examination at the District Lands and Survey Office, Christchurch, on Tuesday, 11th May, 1943, at 10.30 a.m., but if any applicant is unable to attend he may be examined by any other Land Board or by any Commissioner of Crown Lands.
The ballot will be held immediately upon conclusion of the examination of applicants, and the successful applicant is required to pay immediately at the conclusion of the ballot a deposit comprising the first half-year's rent, broken-period rent, lease fee, and deposit in reduction of weighting for improvements.
SCHEDULE.
CANTERBURY LAND DISTRICT.-FIRST-CLASS SETTLEMENT LAND. Selwyn County.-Selwyn Survey District.-Fyvie Settlement.
SECTION 3, Block VI, and Section 5, Block X: Area, 674 acres 0 roods 2 perches. Capital value, £1,865*; half-yearly rent, £46 12s. 6d.
Weighted with £655 for improvements, comprising dwelling of six rooms, scullery, storeroom, and bathroom; wool-shed and implement-shed; motor-shed; garage, granary, and cow-byme; storeroom, chaffhouse, implement-shed, and stable; iron whare (lined); and pigsty with concrete floor; 365 chains fencing; dip, yards, and shelter-belts; and 108 chains of water-race. This sum is payable in cash, or, after payment of a deposit of £55, the balance may be payable over a period of twenty years by half-yearly instalments of £23 lis. There is also payable a sum of approximately £70, being the value of the turnip and chou moellier provided for winter feed.
The property is situated about thirty-one miles south of Christchurch, between the Selwyn and Rakaia Rivers, within two miles and a half of Bankside Railway-station, five miles from Rakaia, and seven miles and a half from Dunsandel by good roads. The soil is light
