ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House at Wellington, this 20th day of April,
1943.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in
him by section one hundred and thirty-nine of the Municipal
Corporations Act, 1933, and of all other powers and authorities in
anywise enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor-
General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive
Council, doth hereby declare that the boundaries of the Borough
of Timaru are hereby altered so as to include therein and exclude
from the County of Levels the land described in the Schedule hereto,
being land, in respect of which there are no electors, adjacent to the
said borough.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that area in the County of Levels of the Canterbury Land
District, situated in Block X, Arowhenua Survey District, and
containing by admeasurement 2 acres 1 rood 14·2 perches, more or
less, bounded by a line commencing at a point at the northernmost
corner of Lot 1, Deposited Plan No. 11640, which is on the boundary
of the existing Borough of Timaru at the south-eastern side of
Claremont Road; thence proceeding in a south-easterly direction
along the south-western boundary of the said Lot 1, Deposited
Plan No. 11640, to its southernmost corner, being a point on the
existing boundary of the Borough of Timaru; thence north-westerly
generally along that boundary to the point of commencement.

Validating Valuation Roll of Mining Property made by the Lake
County Council.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House at Wellington, this 20th day of April,
1943.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS the County Council of the Lake County failed,
through misadventure, to prepare the valuation roll of
mining property in the County of Lake in the month of January,
one thousand nine hundred and forty-three, as required by section
forty-nine of the Rating Act, 1925 :
And whereas the said roll and the subsequent steps required to
be taken in connection therewith were prepared and taken at times
other than those prescribed by the said Act :
And whereas it is expedient to validate the said roll :
Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred
on him by section ninety-nine of the Rating Act, 1925, His Excellency
the Governor-General, acting by and with the consent of the Executive
Council, doth hereby declare that the valuation roll of mining
property for the County of Lake made under the Rating Act, 1925,
by the Lake County Council on the eighth day of March, one thousand
nine hundred and forty-three, shall be valid to all intents and
purposes as if it had been made as required by section forty-nine
of the Rating Act, 1925 ; and doth hereby further declare that the
said roll shall not be called in question by reason of any irregularity
in the making thereof.
