Domain Board appointed to have Control of the Newman Domain

At the Government House at Wellington, this 22nd day of December, 1943

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by section forty-four of the Public Reserves, Domains, and National Parks Act, 1928, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby appoint

Harry Gasson Brookes,
Walter Dowsett
James Edward John Monaghan,
Roland Francis Cooper, and
James Ernest McKenna,

to be the Newman Domain Board, having control of the land described in the Schedule hereto; and doth hereby appoint Friday, the twenty-first day of January, one thousand nine hundred and forty-four, at eight o’clock p.m., as the time when, and the Public Hall, Newman, as the place where, the first meeting of the Board shall be held.

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by section forty-four of the Public Reserves, Domains, and National Parks Act, 1928, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby revoke an Order in Council dated the eighth day of September, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-seven, and published in the Gazette of the ninth day of that month, and doth hereby appoint

Richard Henry Edinger,
William Friend,
Henry James Latta,
Peter Laughton,
John Randall Maginness,
Thomas Maginness,
John Cameron McLachlan,
John Reid Wilson, and
James Frederick Wratten

to be the Pounawea Domain Board, having control of the land described in the Schedule hereto; and doth hereby appoint Monday, the seventeenth day of January, one thousand nine hundred and forty-four, at eight o’clock p.m., as the time when, and the Public Library, Owaka, as the place where, the first meeting of the Board shall be held.

SCHEDULE

OTAGO LAND DISTRICT.—POUNAWEA DOMAIN

ALL that area containing by admeasurement 52 acres 2 roods 36 perches, more or less, being Sections 25, 31, 32, 53 to 55, 58 to 61, 66, 67, 80, 81, 93, 95, and a closed road, Block VI, Glenomaru Survey District. As the same is more particularly shown on the plan marked L. and S. 1/500B, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

Also all that area containing by admeasurement 3 acres 0 roods 20 perches, more or less, being closed road 1491R, Block VI, Glenomaru Survey District, adjoining Sections 31, 53, 54, a closed road, and the Owaka River.

Also all that area containing by admeasurement 9 acres, more or less, being closed road 1492R, Block VI, Glenomaru Survey District, adjoining Sections 32, 80, 81, 82, 94, 95, and the Catlins River. As the same are more particularly shown on the plan marked L. and S. 1/500C, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

Foreshore License.—Kohukohu.—Henry Slade

At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 15th day of December, 1943

Present:

THE HON. D. G. SULLIVAN PRESIDING IN COUNCIL

PURSUANT to the Harbours Act, 1923, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, doth hereby license and permit Henry Slade, of Kohukohu (hereinafter called “the licensee,” which term shall include his executors, administrators, or assigns, unless the context requires a different construction), to use and occupy a part of the foreshore at Kohukohu, Hokianga Harbour, as shown on approved plan marked M.D. 6742, and deposited in the office of the Marine Department at Wellington, for the purpose of maintaining thereon a dwellinghouse as shown on the said plan, such license to be held and enjoyed by the licensee upon and subject to the terms and conditions set forth in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE

CONDITIONS

  1. THIS license is subject to the Foreshore License Regulations 1940, and the provisions of those regulations shall, so far as applicable, apply hereto.

  2. The term of the license shall be fourteen years from the 5th day of December, 1943.

  3. The premium payable by the licensee shall be one pound (£1), and the annual sum so payable five pounds (£5).

to be the deputy on the Taranaki Land Sales Committee of Francis Stanley Grayling, Esquire, the Chairman of that Committee.
