IT is hereby notified for general information that in the list showing the order in which orders, decorations, and medals should be worn, published in New Zealand Gazette No. 56 of 3rd July, 1941, the following is substituted for the section dealing with Medals for Gallantry and Distinguished Conduct :—

Notice of Intention to take Land for a Public Work
NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1928, to take the land described in the Schedule hereto for a public work : And notice is hereby further given that the plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the post-office at Redwoods Valley and is there open for inspection ; and that all persons affected by the taking of the said land should, if they have any well-grounded objection to the taking of such land, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing, within forty days from the 20th day of December, 1943, to the Minister of Works at Wellington.
SCHEDULE
APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land required to be taken : 13 acres.
Being Section 4 (Birds Island), Waimea East District.
Situated in Block II, Waimea Survey District.
In the Nelson Land District ; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 118328, deposited in the office of the Minister of Works at Wellington, and thereon coloured red.
As witness my hand at Wellington, this 13th day of December, 1943.

The Johnsonville Milk Delivery Scheme, 1942, Amendment No. 1
PURSUANT to the Delivery Emergency Regulations 1942, the Minister of Transport doth hereby give notice as follows :—

This notice may be cited as the Johnsonville Milk Delivery Scheme, 1942, Amendment No. 1, and shall be read together with and deemed part of the Johnsonville Milk Delivery Scheme, 1942* (hereinafter referred to as “the principal scheme”).

Clause (6) of the principal scheme is hereby amended as follows :—
(a) By adding Railway Terrace to the area allotted to S. Nossiter :
(b) By withdrawing Railway Terrace from the area allotted to F. Dinsdale :
(c) By withdrawing Wells Street from the area allotted to B. Grenside :
(d) By adding Wells Street and Brook Street to the area allotted to E. Bradnock :
(e) By revoking the words “F. Watkins” and substituting therefor the words “E. Bradnock” :
(f) By revoking the words “B. Grenside” and substituting therefor the words “James Austin O’Malley”.

NOTICE has been received under the hand of the Returning Officer for the purposes of the first election of members of the Waipiata-Patearoa Rabbit Board established under the said Act that—

have been duly elected to be members of the said Board.

Revocation of certain Notices under the Supply Control Emergency Regulations 1939
NOTICE is hereby given that, in pursuance of the Supply Control Emergency Regulations 1939, I hereby revoke, as from the 1st day of January, 1944, the notices (as to the control of certain factory and building materials) mentioned in the Schedule hereto, to the extent indicated in that Schedule.

Notice relating to the sale, supply, or other disposition of certain iron and steel sheets, dated 20th December, 1939, and published in the Gazette of that date, Vol. III, at page 3551.

Notice dated 18th March, 1942, and published in the Gazette of 19th March, 1942, Vol. I, at page 728 : Clause 1 (which extends the application of the above-mentioned notice to certain terne sheets).

The Tinplate and Canister Packing Control Notice 1942, Amendment No. 1
PURSUANT to the Factory Emergency Regulations 1939, I, George Augustus Pascoe, Factory Controller, hereby direct and give notice as follows :—

This notice may be cited as the Tinplate and Canister Packing Control Notice 1942, Amendment No. 1, and shall be read together with and deemed part of the Tinplate and Canister Packing Control Notice 1942* (hereinafter referred to as the principal notice).

This notice shall come into force on the 1st day of January, 1944.

The principal notice is hereby amended by revoking clause 6 and substituting the following clause :—
“6. No person shall use, print, cut, stamp, fabricate, or submit to any process any tinplate for any purpose other than a purpose set out in clause 7 of this notice.”

The Steel Returns Notice 1943, No. 2
PURSUANT to the Supply Control Emergency Regulations 1939 and the Steel Emergency Regulations 1943, the Steel Controller hereby directs and gives notice as follows :—

This notice may be cited as the Steel Returns Notice 1943, No. 2.

This notice shall come into force on the 1st day of January, 1944.

Within fourteen days after the coming into force of this notice every person who on the 1st day of January, 1944, owns or has in his possession or control any steel in the form of billets, blooms, slabs, joists, angles, channels, tees, plates, circles, rails, track material, flats, rounds, squares, hexagons, or octagons, shall, if on that date that steel amounts in the aggregate to not less than one ton, furnish to the Ministry of Supply (Steel Control), Government Life Insurance Building, Wellington, a return showing the sizes, qualities, and weights (either calculated or actual) of all such steel so owned, possessed, or controlled by that person on that date.
