Members of Domain Boards appointed.

HIS Excellency the Governor-General has, in pursuance of section 49 of the Public Reserves, Domains, and National Parks Act, 1928, been pleased to make the following appointments :-

John Thomas McCowan and
Thomas Patrick Dowling
to be members of the Ohope Beach Domain Board in place of Henry Charles Kennedy and Clive Kingsley-Smith, resigned.

Leonard James Hoglund
to be a member of the Kowai Pass Domain Board in place of Hugh Alexander Millar, deceased.

Stanley Walter Hills
to be a member of the Patea Domain Board in place of Francis Evenson Beamish, deceased.

Eric Elkin Pearson
to be a member of the Motutara Domain Board in place of William Gordon Coster, resigned.

Scheme of Control.-Waitaki High Schools.

Education Department,
Wellington, 17th February, 1943.

IN accordance with the provisions of the Education Act, 1914, and with the powers thereunder, I, Henry Greathead Rex Mason, Minister of Education, do hereby approve of the following amendment in the scheme of control for the Waitaki High Schools :—

' Paragraph 9 of clause 2 of the scheme is amended by deleting the words, "This voting paper must be signed by the voter and enclosed in a sealed envelope bearing on the outside thereof the words 'voting paper,'" and substituting the words :—

"The voting paper must be enclosed in a closed envelope bearing on the outside the words 'voting paper' and on the inside of the flap of the envelope the signature of the voter.'"

Date of Election by Fire-insurance Companies to fill Extraordinary Vacancy on the Auckland Metropolitan Fire Board.

PURSUANT to the Fire Brigades Act, 1926, and the rules made thereunder, the Minister charged with the administration of the said Act doth hereby appoint Monday, the 8th day of March, 1943, to be the date for holding the election of one member of the Auckland Metropolitan Fire Board by the fire-insurance companies concerned, such election being held to fill the extraordinary vacancy caused by the resignation of Mr. J. J. Kingston.

Poukawa Drainage Area.—Penalty on Overdue Rates.

Wellington, 19th February, 1943.

IN pursuance of section 76 of the Rating Act, 1925, and the Swamp Drainage Act, 1915, and its amendments, the rate-payers within the Poukawa Drainage Rating Area are hereby notified that 10 per centum additional will be added to all rates for the year ending 31st March, 1943, unpaid on the 15th March, 1943.

Rates may be paid to the Collector of Rates, Lands and Survey Department, Box 2205, Auckland.

Authorizing the Laying-off of Roads of less Width than 66 ft.

WHEREAS in the opinion of the Minister of Lands it is inexpedient, by reason of the fact that the land shown upon the plan of Town of Wainui-o-Mata Extension No. 2 and upon the plan of Town of Wainui-o-Mata Extension No. 3, affecting parts of Sections 1, 2, 3, Lowry Bay Registration District, and Section 8,

Wainui-o-Mata Registration District, Blocks XVI and XVII, Belmont Survey District, Wellington Land District, is intended to be used wholly for residential purposes, that Rowe Parade, adjoining Lots 50 and 51 on the plan of Extension No. 2 and Lots 1 to 10 (inclusive) on the plan of Extension No. 3, Gibbs Crescent, and Peel Place, adjoining Lots 55, 56, and 58 to 69 (inclusive) shown thereon should be of the width of 66 ft. :

Now, therefore, in pursuance of the power conferred upon him by section 17, subsection (1), of the Land Act, 1924, and of every other power him thereunto enabling, the Minister of Lands doth hereby authorize the laying-off of Rowe Parade, adjoining Lots 50 and 51 on the plan of Extension No. 2 and Lots 1 to 10 (inclusive) on the plan of Extension No. 3, Gibbs Crescent, and Peel Place, adjoining Lots 55, 56, and 58 to 69 (inclusive), of a width of not less than 50 ft. : Provided always that it shall not be lawful for any person to erect or cause to be erected any building at a less distance than 33 ft. from the middle of such roads.

The Hauraki Plains County Meat Delivery Notice 1943.

PURSUANT to Regulation 4 of the Delivery Emergency Regulations 1942, the Minister of Transport doth hereby give notice as follows :—

  1. This notice may be cited as the Hauraki Plains County Meat Delivery Notice 1943.

  2. This notice shall come into force on the seventh day after the date of publication thereof in the Gazette.

  3. The scheme set out in the Schedule hereto is hereby provided for the district described in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE.

(1) “District” means the area of the Hauraki Plains County and all boroughs and town districts situated therein or adjacent to the boundaries thereof.

(2) This scheme relates to the delivery of meat in the district by the Hauraki Plains Meat Company, Limited, having its registered office at Ngatea, and by William Moore Thompson, of Kerepehi (hereinafter referred as to “the parties to this scheme”).

(3) It shall be a condition of this scheme that the parties to this scheme shall not deliver meat in the district otherwise than pursuant to the award dated the 2nd day of October, 1942, made by Ernest Andrew Mahoney, Clerk of the Hauraki Plains County Council, at the request of the parties to this scheme, and deposited at the office of the Transport Department, Wellington.

The Wanganui Groceries Delivery Notice 1943.

  2. This notice shall come into force on the Monday following the date of publication thereof in the Gazette.

  3. The scheme set out in the Schedule hereto is hereby provided for the district described in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE.

THE WANGANUI GROCERIES DELIVERY SCHEME, 1943.

(1) For the purposes of this scheme, unless the context otherwise requires,——

“ The district” means the City of Wanganui and the areas of Mosstown, Tayforth, and Springvale :

“ Week” means a week commencing on a Monday :

“ Delivery” means delivery by use of a vehicle and “delivered” has a corresponding meaning.

(2) For the purpose of assisting in the administration of this scheme there shall be a committee as follows :—

Wanganui Groceries Delivery Committee—

(a) Two members to be appointed by the Wanganui City Council ;

(b) One member to be appointed by the Wanganui Master Grocers’ Association ;

(c) The Zoning Officer for the North Island.

(3) (a) The members to be appointed to the committee by the Wanganui City Council and the Wanganui Master Grocers’ Association under clause (2) of this scheme shall be appointed by resolution of the Council and Association respectively as soon as may be after the coming into force of this scheme.

(b) Any committee member appointed by the said Council or Association, as the case may be, may in like manner be removed from office.

(4) Any committee member, other than the Zoning Officer, may resign his office by writing addressed to the Minister.

(5) On the death, resignation, or removal from office of any committee member, other than the Zoning Officer, the vacancy created thereby shall be filled by appointment in the manner in which the vacating member was appointed.
