NOTICE is hereby given that, pursuant to the authority conferred on the Bureau of Industry under Part III of the Industrial Efficiency Act, 1936, the following decisions have been made in respect of applications for licenses.

Notice to Persons affected by Applications for Licenses under Part III of the Industrial Efficiency Act, 1936

Taking of Fish for Sale

J. Bull, 10 Oxford Street, Timaru, has applied for a variation in the conditions of his industrial fishing license in respect of the fishing-vessel “Annabella,” TU. 6, so as to permit him to operate a new 100 h.p. Diesel-engined 50 ft. fishing-vessel (to be registered), using trawl-nets, long lines, and hand-lines, catches to be landed at Timaru.

J. Paterson, Paremata, has applied for a license to permit him to operate the 27 ft. 10 h.p. fishing-vessel “Hopeful,” using long lines, hand-lines, set-nets, drag-nets, and crayfish-pots, catches to be landed at Paremata.

Persons considering themselves materially affected by the decisions of the Bureau of Industry on these applications should make any desired representations in writing not later than the 16th December, 1943, to G. L. O’Halloran, Secretary, Bureau of Industry, G.P.O. Box 3025, Wellington.

Manufacture for Sale of Footwear

The Auckland Sandal Co., Ltd., 1 Howe Street, Auckland, has applied for an extension of its existing license to permit it to manufacture men’s and women’s sports shoes by the Veldtschoen process.

A. Pitkethley, 127 Parnell Road, Auckland, has applied for a license to manufacture men’s, women’s, and children’s beach sandals by the machine-sewn, fairstitch, and riveted processes.

F. G. Stockley, 305 Great North Road, Grey Lynn, Auckland, has applied for a license to manufacture wedgie sandals by machine-sewn and riveted processes, sales to be confined to his own shops.

Canning of Fruit and Vegetables

The Central Otago Fruit Co., Ltd., Wellington, has applied for a license to can fruit and vegetable at Roxburgh.

Persons considering themselves materially affected by the decisions of the Bureau of Industry on these applications should make any desired representations in writing not later than the 9th December, 1943, to G. L. O’Halloran, Secretary, Bureau of Industry, G.P.O. Box 3025, Wellington.
